tomorrow's game, wonder if they have had enough practice time to adapt to air force type of ball?

Tech Meets Air Force in Chick-fil-A Peach Bowl Classic

eorgia Tech, which has moved up a spot to No. 3 in the Associated Press and ESPN/USA Today rankings this week, is looking for its sixth straight victory to start the season Saturday when it meets Air Force at 2:30 p.m. at Philips Arena.

The game, regionally televised on FSN South, is the nightcap of the Chick-fil-A Peach Bowl Classic for Kids. Georgia faces Oregon State in the opener at 12 noon.

Tech has had five days off for fall semester final exams, but comes into the game on a roll, having beaten Michigan (99-68) and Georgia (87-49) by an average of 34.5 points last week. The Yellow Jackets have won their five games by an average of 26.4 points, and lead the ACC in scoring defense, field goal percentage defense and rebounding.

QUOTING COACH HEWITT
On Air Force and its Princeton offense - "They do a great job with it. I just hope we're ready to defend it. That is what they do. That is who they are. If you don't defend it well, then their confidence grows. They have a lot of pride in it. You talk about a battle of wills. The better they run that offense, the more powerful they become.

"It's a style of basketball that's pure and unselfish. You pass the ball and set good screens. You read screens. People think it's a series of plays. It's a series of reads. They keep the number of possessions down and make you defend 25 or 30 seconds. Even if we press, they will pull it back out and run their offense."

I have watched af for years and the good winning ones and covering ones the last few, the key is and it is a must to cover anything over 8-9 points don't know the line not playing it, but all mt.west teams who beat af their coaches all say the same thing you have to get on yop first and fast by about 5-6 in first 5 mins and then you make them run, it has seemed to be the only way to beat them or to get a cover against them on a line over 8 or 9 because if they get lead or hang around they will milk the clock and run the off which they run very well and deff of other teams gets lost then burnt with the back door lay up, seen it time after time since their games for some reason are all covered on ch 33 out here in fb and hoops, so have watched them for a long time, lot easier to say lets get up fast and run on them then it is to do, me if tech can do what they all try and do they will kill a.force, like i said not playing the game and don't know line did not check.

I don't play many dogs play way more in fb and hoops then baseball, i only play a dog if I think they can win game, but have broke that with af and made very good money with them as a dog last few years they are good a keeping it tight most of the time, but if you look at the teams who they play and played in the past who are better that has covered 8 or 9 points or higher they have run away with it from the start, and not to many of them, they can also kick the ball out when running that weave just when you think you got the back door coverd for the lay up , they get a quick kick out to the wing and nail the 3 pointer. very peskey team but they can cover with anyone if they get their type of game, laying points 8 or higher in the past against af is like laying 16-20 because of their style and it takes a lot to get them to break it. Only way is like I said and all mt.west coaches have said get up 5-6 with in first 5 mins or less if not your in for a long low scoring dog fight more times then not.

Heard similar comments from Hewitt on the radio this AM. They are not quite prepared for this style but by far better athletes and may just cover "by osmosis".

I think one key is the fact that this game is being played at Phillips Arena rather than the Thrillerdome.

Think GT is DDs for sure
