Reggie Theus has done some great things to bring new mexico st near the top of the conference but a few things stand out..
1. New mexico st just beat the Nevada for the first time in a while and are tied for 1st place...so a small let down usually follows or a sluggish first half.. add to that J Hawkins had a career game, shot lights OUT against Nevada, i doubt he drops 30 again...
2. New Mexico St typically doesn't blow people out.. In conference games, they havent won by DD yet... in fact every game has been decided by 8 or less (including games against Hawaii, Louisana Tech & San Jose St)...
3. New Mexico St's ft shooting isnt that good, so if they are up a lot and fouls at end or just scrubs are in, it can help out.. only 1 guy on the team shoots above 71% from the line..last game they made near 84% and as a team shoot close to 64%..
now the warning label is how BAD Idaho is on the road.. my god they SUCK :142smilie and Idaho only lost by 5 the first time out, so the line seems a little funny, but its attributed to HOW BAD IDAHO is on the road, plus Idaho isnt a big team is going to get KILLED on the glass..
. I just think New Mexico will come in waaay over confident and sleep walk through the first half, then get serious and win this one by 16ish...
this is more an anti New Mexico St play, than an Idaho play.. not going big on it, but just taking it for a little based on the timing and situational match up..
