You need to check out this new place:

These are nothing but good people. If you aren't into surfing then you probably don't know who Dean Randazzo is, but he's the owner of the place with his brother Joe.

Dean, who is nicknamed "The Jersey Devil" is considered the best surfer to come out of New Jersey. I don't imagine a lot of surfers come from NJ, but still, he's accomplished a lot in the surfing world.

His surfing accomplishments are secondary to the fact that he has beat cancer FOUR times! He's a pretty amazing guy.

The shop is small, like most places on the boardwalk, but has some nice stuff and they offer lessons. It's worth stopping in just to say hi.

Penguin, I surfed heavily on Long Island in H.S. and college. Mostly Gilgo and Long Beach with Ricky Rasmussen from 79-81. It sounds like you surf or were a surfer. Don't know how old you are but you probably know the people and places I mentioned.

I've actually never surfed, nor did I know who Dean was until this past week. My kids wanted to take surfing lessons and we found these folks.

They really treated us well and I couldn't be happier with the entire experience. The kids loved it and can't wait to do it again.

It seemed like Dean (who did not actually give the lessons) was somebody since Jimmy Buffet came in to say hello. I decided to look him up on Google and was pretty fascinated with his story.

They treated us great so I thought I would mention them here and hopefully send some business their way.
