yep up 7 with 41 secs left Wichita made 2 FT's to make it a 5 pt game plus Wichita got the ball after the FT were made because of the flagrant foul then Wichita hit a 3 to make it a 2 pt game with about 19 secs left. Illinois St turned it over and Wichita hit another 3 to put them up 1 and Illinois St missed the last shot

gjn....like you say.....its a HORRIBLE rule but he could have called timeout and gotten the 10-second reset, instead the guy just dribbles it out of bounds instead of letting himself get fouled......amazing
every college idiot does it.....they get the inbounds pass and immediately looks to make a dribble move or jump to pass it like a hot potato.....oh yeah, and none ever think to dribble backwards, forward only.
with 2 timeouts they could run 27 seconds off the clock and end the game by standing there and waiting to get fouled

I HATE the stupid rule, but as long as its there, you take advantage of it.
For the most part, these college coaches are motivators. These guys are extremely athletic and extremely stupid. Its basically watching a pickup game.
I love how the announcers make every effort to go overboad when a guy makes a halfway smart play. "What a CEREBRAL decision" "What a high basketball IQ"
