Taken from another forum and he is a poster I respect........

"Mizzou is having a shootaround and Carroll took a fall. Looks like he twisted/tweaked an ankle. He went to the bench and sat for a spell and returned to the floor several minutes later. Not sure what this means. Don't be too alarmed."

"He says he'll be 100%, but it didn't look good and he hopped one legged off the court. He came back to practice later and was later seen walking with a slight limp."

"DeMarre said he'll be fine and this is nothing new for him, but it looked a bit concerning."

I'll keep you all posted tomorrow as I hear new news.

any ankle twist/tweak is a MAJOR concern

any ankle twist/tweak is a MAJOR concern

never seen a BB player do even a 50 % effort on a twisted /tweaked ankle ...it's too much of a concern for speed and balance for shooting and forget jumping or tough defense
thank you for that info ...will use it

Posted on the St. Louis Post Dispatch Website by Bernie Miklasz the Mizzou beat reporter:

greetings from Glendale, Az.

Mizzou is having a shootaround and Carroll took a fall. Looks like he twisted/tweaked an ankle.

he went to the bench and sat for a spell and returned to the floor several minutes later.

Not sure what this means. Don't be too alarmed.

Lacedarius Dunn twisted an ankle badly and cameback to score at least 10 or 12 in the second half for Baylor just yesterday.Course he 's a former hs national player of the year, but still I saw that happen and it was just yesterday.

it's all good when it happens at game time man.... you just use lidocaine and bandages before it swells ... but it's NOT the same 24 hours or more BEFORE the game as the swelling and the inflamation process takes place and ruins the ankle helpless ...i've seen too many times this take place

The great thing is neither of us have enough info toknow how fucked up he is or isn't,sometimes an initially painful ankle can be walked off after 15 minutes,I've had that happen to me personally, its not anecdotal,on the other hand he could also be a basketcase. We'll find out in 10 hours.gl

Update from the STL newspaper:

GLENDALE, ARIZ. ? Having limped on-stage for a pregame news conference Wednesday after twisting an ankle in practice, Mizzou senior forward DeMarre Carroll was suspiciously quick to try to deflect any suggestion he could be affected for tonight's NCAA Tournament game with Memphis.

"I'm 100 percent," he said, smiling.

Asked to clarify what happened, Carroll said, "I went down, you know. Trying to make a move, and I tweaked my ankle a little bit. But at this point, it's the Sweet 16 ? I'm 100 percent."

Carroll leads MU in scoring (16.7) and rebounding (7.3) and often sets the tone for the Tigers with his passionate play.

Memphis coach John Calipari doesn't expect any less than Carroll's best ? hampered or not.

"He is ferocious, relentless, has a body language that I love, just a bubbly 'Here I come,' " Calipari said. "And if he misses a play, he has amnesia. ... He is terrific."
