The trial for Terry Nichols for the Oklahoma City bombing starts on March 1. There was a ruling that cameras won't be allowed to be in the courtroom for this trial; that's why it was brought to my attention. After 9/11, most people seem to have forgotten about this horrific act of domestic terrorism, but reading about it makes me think about how I was 100 percent convinced that it was some radical Arabs when it happened. I was wrong. Who else was?
In all honesty, who thought this was done by Arabs?

To many conservative red neecks that part of the country. My thoughts were that way first. Then with the help of our ace News that we got hit with. Arab involvement was next idea. And Saudia backed or Iran backed was where I thougth for sure it would come from. Strange how I never gave Iraq a thought.
when that happened, I personally did not think Muslims. Now, if it would have been a suicide bombing, I would have.

if jack the ripper is murdering women in london with a scalpel and some moron does a copycat killing,is it necessarily shocking that people`s first inclination would be to look toward jack?
when someone is murdered,unless there`s obvious evidence to the contrary,the police usually look at family and friends first....
when a plane goes down,everybody holds their breath and terrorism immediately comes to mind....
isn`t it common sense to look at the more likely suspects first?.....
thorough investigation got the right guys....

I actually just posted it because I haven't thought of it for a while, but saw some info on the Nichols trial on cnn.com and it reminded me of how wrong I had it pegged. I was just curious if others had the same thought pattern I did when it happened.
I looked back on some of the archives of it, and it really bothered me that I forgot about it in the wake of 9/11. That was my first day at my first job (sophomore year of high school), and I remember seeing the images of the babies and such in about my first hour on the job. Very tragic.

it boggles the mind that american citizens,people that we see,talk to and interact with everyday, can be so callous toward innocent people because of political/ideological differences....so hateful that they can commit mass murder....
i think,that in that vein,a point has been made,bjf......
i guess that when we look around the world...the middle east....northern ireland....the balkans.....and are so horrified by what we see,we have to realize that we are not above the fray.....

Gardenweasel Dont know what I said that was that far off. There are some real red neck far right consevatives that part of the country. They dont like much about any part of the government. So my first thought was one of those nuts. Being it was a government buliding.

I believe 100% that our govt was behind the Ok City bombing.....and yes, I lost two cousins in the bombing.......
