Cheap ass, tight ass, angle shooter. I use the word regularly.
The people that come to an internet table and minimum buy, then double up and leave immediately, they are NITS.
People who don't tip are NITS.
People who welch on bets are NITS.
People who try to weasel deals when they have the worst of it, and won't even discuss one when they don't are NITS.
BDB is a NIT.
Kneifl is a fukcing NIT.

hmm, never heard it before. This guy was talking about kicking a guy out of his home game because he was a nit. When I asked what this meant, he said the guy would never bet his hand?? Say for instance they are playing omaha hi-lo in their home game, and the guy has Ace 2 of clubs with a flop of 3 clubs 4 clubs and 5x. He won't bet, he won't raise, he will just call. Likewise in hold-em, he'll have the stone nuts and just call, won't raise, and won't bet out. I told him he sounded like an idiot and he would be welcome at my table anytime. They actually told him to not come back because he plays like this? :shrug: Maybe the guy I was talking to was a nit?? :142smilie Why would you not want a guy like this at your table especially playing limit like they do?? Doesn't this decrease your losses if he doesn't raise? He also mentioned another guy he thought about kicking out because he check/raises. I told him he'd probably hate me, lol! I really need to get a seat in this game.

The term "Nit" comes from the old days at the Bicycle Club in Los Angeles. The game was lowball and it was the ONLY game in town. Nit refers to anyone that sits around waiting for the "nuts" before they play a hand......plain and simple.
