I have read recently where more and more countries are refusing to take the dollar due to it's slide on the market. This may sound isolationist but my reply to any nation that does this .......we are stopping all foriegn aid to your country due to the fact we deal in US Dollar and you don't take the dollar anymore. We have propped up enough nations and via war ensured they would continue to speak there own language as oppossed to a concurred nation. Let them survive without us!!!!!

Upstairs watching sports on the big TV.
Taj Mahal only...

Taj Mahal only...

Used to be 5 dollars US or 50 Indian Rupees...with the collapse of the dollar overseas(you can thank the Federal reserve and horrible fiscal policy for this) Basically they are losing 55 cents taking a fiver, not to mention exchange fees at bank.

Here is story...

Bucks not accepted at Indian tourist sites

Fri, January 4, 2008

By AP

NEW DELHI -- No U.S. dollars, just rupees please.

In a sign of how the once mighty U.S. dollar has fallen, India's tourism minister said yesterday U.S. currency will no longer be accepted at heritage tourist sites, including the Taj Mahal.

For years the U.S. buck was worth about 50 rupees and tourists visiting most sites in India were charged either $5 or 250 rupees.

But with the greenback at a nine-year low against the rupee -- falling 11 per cent in 2007 and now hovering at around 39 rupees -- that deal has become a losing proposition for the tourism industry.

I think this is a fair conclusion by India. I don't understand why they can't have a floating rate, though, like most countries. They have been taking a loss to encourage US tourism. That can only last so long.

We simply need to figure out how we can improve the dollar's value by exporting more, importing less, and negotiating better with other countries.

you just have to call up any computer helpline to get a real opinion from a breathing citizen of India on what they think

would imagine the companies that hire them don't like all this either
