Was this just a republican anti-abortion agenda or was this to cut spending or both?

I guess planned parenthood will have to raise rates and rely more on donations. I hope they don't try to get rid of Planned Parenthood across the nation. I think this is a big mistake.

I know spending needs to be cut but this one, I don't know.

This is another case of throwing the baby out with the bath water. The conservative agenda intends for this to reduce the number of abortions but what they will not accept is the fact that only 3% of Planned Parenthood's services are abortion related. 97% of their services are related to contraception, STD testing and treatment and cancer screening. I fear that this restriction of funding is going to end up costing taxpayers even more in the increased costs of delayed treatments for STD's and cancers and increased numbers of unwanted babies. It effectively limits the choices available to women to appease conservative voters.

The Commonwealth of Virginia is taking it from a different direction by requiring all clinics that perform more than 5 abortions in a month to be held to higher standards than other outpatient surgical centers. It amazes me that we have performed a complete turnaround of attitudes in less than 40 years. I honestly thought that the "baby boomers" would be more sensible and sensitive about a woman's right to choose.

I think this is going to lead to MORE abortions in Indiana. There will be more unwanted pregnancies and people will find the funds to have abortions. You will have more abortion doctors give out abortion deductions or more charity help.

Do they think not having planned parenthood will stop people from having sex?

The more and more I think about it the more stupid I think this is. Just a republican political agenda, I don't think this has much to do about budget.
