Carolina will be without MLB Dan Morgan this week. Unproven adam seward who has played in only 5 career games will take his place. The other LB's are Thomas Davis, a convetred saftey, and Nail Diggs who missed last game with a knee.
The panthers defense gave up 252 yards rushing to the Falcons last week. The vikings were very committed to the run last Monday. Chester taylor had 31 rushing attempts. Look for more of the same against Carolina. Childress wants to load up behing Mckinnie and Hutchinson on the left side of the offensive line.
Offensively, Carolina may be without Steve Smith again. Right tackle travelle Wharton is out for the season, and Center Justin Hartwig is questionalble with a groin. Jeremy bridges was just signed may have to take Hartwig's place.
Kevin, and Pat Williams will be a tough matchup for the interior of Carolina'a line. Not having Smith may further add to this problem because Minnesota will be able to put more emphasis on run defense.
Carolna's offense is suspect with no receiving threat at TE to loosen up Minnesota's new cover 2 scheme. Who by the way have two corners that fit this D perfectly, Winfield and Smoot. Winfield had 7 tkls last week and is known for his run support.
Dwight Smith should be back after susepension last week and is a veteran of Cover 2 with tampa bay.
