I wouldn't say the preseason is all that important...I bet the games VERY lightly, if at all...but an interesting stat I saw during one of the games this weekend:
Of the past 11 Superbowl winners...all of them went at least .500 in preseason. Overall, the past 11 Superbowl winners had a combined preseason winning % of over 71%.
Last year both SB participants went 4-0 in preseason.
So maybe there is a little something to it.
