If you yelled for 8 years, 7 months and 6 days you would have produced enough sound energy to heat one cup of coffee.
(Hardly seems worth it.)

If you farted consistently for 6 years and 9 months, enough gas is produced to create the energy of an atomic bomb.
(Now that's more like it!)

The human heart creates enough pressure when it pumps out to the body to squirt blood 30 feet.
(O.M.G.!)

A cockroach will live nine days without its head before it starves to death. (Creepy.)

Banging your head against a wall uses 150 calories an hour.
(Do not try this at home...... maybe at work.)

The male praying mantis cannot copulate while its head is attached to its body. The female initiates sex by ripping the male's head ! off.
("Honey, I'm home. What the....?!")

The flea can jump 350 times its body length. It's like a human jumping the length of a football field.
( can you imagine??)

The catfish has over 27,000 taste buds.
(What could be so tasty on the bottom of a pond?)

Butterflies taste with their feet.
(Something I always wanted to know.)

The strongest muscle in the body is the tongue.
(Hmmmmmm........)

Right-handed people live, on average, nine years longer
than left-handed people.
(If you're ambidextrous, do you split the difference?)

Elephants are the only animals that cannot jump.
(OK, so that would be a good thing....)

A cat's urine glows under a black light.
(I wonder who was paid to figure that out?)

An ostrich's eye is bigger than its brain.
(I know some people like that.)

Starfish have no brains.
(I know some people like that too.)

Polar bears are left-handed.
(If they switch, they'll live a lot longer.)

I was getting worried about you AR. I hadn't seen a post in a while and always look forward to them.

Read something the other day that got my attention and would like your thoughts as I am not sure how I perceive it yet.
In short this economy head at one of our astute colleges, made note that a deficeit not to far out of kelter with the GNP is actually good and further noted that it is impossible to have a surplus for any length of time. His reasoning was that when govs have the surplus it actually takes the money out of the economy--- and just when I was thinking this guy was an idiot he made note that there has been only 2 times in last 25 years that leading economic countries have had surplus. Japan in 1987 and U.S. a few years back. He said it was inevible that a recession would follow.I'm thinking is this logical or just coincidence??

Good stuff from both. That cockroach thing is way out. Maybe thas why the cockroaches and rats will get whats left of this earth when mans done here.
DTB I agree a small deficit is ok. I know a balance is needed. To big a daficit and it can take money out of our pocket's due to interest rate will go up. That can slow things down and deficit can actuly grow.
Our states, well at least 47 of them are not allowed to have deficits. They must balance the books. But I think we all know they playsome acconting games to do it. But they do try to stay close to balanced. But then they can not a-just interest rates.

DTB--an economist I am not, but I have always ahd similar thoughts. If the Republicans screw our economy by running a deficit and the Democrats screw our economy by running s deficit, there may just be a reason that it is done.

Just a simple minded fool's thoughts.;)

Could you imagine all of the open palms if we actually ran a surplus? I think it would be a nightmare. Now I do think that we could probably adjust our spending to better suit our country, but that is another story entirely.

Hey brother Dawg. It is weird as I am somewhat perplexed on this issue and it is bugging the hell out of me. Somehow I can believe gov debt is good as it goes against my principals but this fellows speil was put in such a logical format. I wish like hell I could find print of it. I can understand that the $ amount in itself means little unless compared with GNP. He had other points also of interest on the type of debt. RE Short term reasons such as bailouts--911-wars ect will in many circumstances be good (not always) as ecomomy often benefits in long run, however he also spoke of long term escalating debt programs. Such as entitlements that never go away but and almost always escalate.
I still don't like free wheel spending regardless of reason.:)

AR I love to watch foots especially college and still have ton of data and still collect some but for the most part do not wager on it anymore. After years I found it is too time consuming to bust your ass to swap money back and forth. Just too many intangibles on teams sports to my liking. You might have the #'s capped perfect but with the mentality of most the players who get paid regardless of that weeks performance who knows which one is pissed at something that week, aol from team,in jail or dead, and you have officials who come into play, emotions of teams that no longer have a chance.key injury during the game and I could go on. Just too many things that one can not remotely gage.
Was fortunate to find Stan,Clive and a few other Euro mates in the links (golf) section bout 5 years ago. As I love golf and play every day it was of interest to me. They had the patience to take me under their wings and introduce to the arts of golf wagering.
Since then I almost exclusively wager on golf.Like tennis it is a uno on uno sport with only one persons temperment and abilty to gauge. In golf there are no officials to speak of. The integrity of the athletes is mucho superior as the biggest news in last five years is Daly getting DUI. If they play bad that week they don't get paid so you can usually expect 100%.
Stop on down to the links forum when you get a chance. A great small group resides there.Never been an ill word in 5 years.
We keep ongoing weekly and ytd stats afer each event In addition Stan reports weekly on everyone's updated stats. Stan has single handedly made it the finest area in any forum I have ever been associated with but will add the boys in the "other sports" forum have quite a tight knit and very successful crew also and would definately be in the running.
So I ended my foots and horse wagering and concentrate on something I enjoy---and after last week tourney (Chrysler Classic)
sit at 267-178 on year with a couple weeks left, and could not remotely ever expected to hit 60% on 450+ plays in foots if I had crystal ball and wore a black and white striped shirt :)so even at my peanut wagers I can buy a few balls and green fees and have a great time and enjoy comraderie of some fine folks down there.
and I can't say enough about Stan, who has hit +200 unit seasons in 4 last 5 years and if that isn't enough runs tournaments, built a golf statistical site for us 2nd to none I have ever seen and keeps forum stats on everyone.
Sorry AR I get too enthusiastic on golf at times.:D

AR--sorry if I am changing the reason for this thread, but I have a few question for DTB.

DTB--I basically have ZERO clue when it comes to betting on golf. I read through those threads probably once a month and after visiting Stna's site, I have a little better idea, but I just can't seem to grasp it. Where is the best place for me to get tutoring on this. I follow golf like a religion now anyway due to a very competitive Fantasy Golf league (been in for 8 years now), but I don't do any wagering on it. I would like to if I could get more comfortable.

I would think the first step is to get some good Golf outs. That, of course, would require a bigger bank roll because my outs now don't touch the sport. It would take me until the beginning of next season to learn enough and stash enough for a couple of outs anyway, so right now may be the best time for me to get started.

Any help appreciated!

ageecee--if you went in to work at 2:30 am :)eek: )every morning, you could probably squeeze in a couple of swings a day, too.

DTB--same address. I have told your work situation that you have set up to several people. Everyone is amazed and usually doesn't believe it.:p
