Seems that he wanted to go to SC, but distance was a factor.
Guess I was right. Damn Carroll is amazing. Remember, USC recruited 3 top 10 national running backs last year (Bush was #1). AP is #1 RB in nation this year.
Colleges still after Peterson

PALESTINE, Texas -- Just because Adrian Peterson said he'd made up his mind didn't stop recruiters from trying to change it.
The running back from Palestine High School announced his intentions to sign with Oklahoma during the Army All-American Bowl on Jan. 3. Still, the recruiters visit and the letters arrive and the calls come.
Such is life when you're the No. 1 recruit in the country.
"It's really slowed," Palestine coach Jeff Harrell said of the recruiting, "but there's still people who are going to recruit to the very end."
Southern Cal, Texas A&M, Texas and Arkansas have maintained contact with Peterson. Texas assistant Michael Haywood attended a Palestine basketball game two weeks ago, and Texas A&M assistant Lee Fobbs made an in-home visit earlier this week.
But there's little evidence his commitment to the Sooners has waned.
"It's solid," Peterson said a week ago. "Probably 95 percent.
"If I would change, I would go to USC."
Wanting to play where he could contend for championships and be in position to one day win the Heisman Trophy, Peterson narrowed his choices to the Sooners and the Trojans. Both provided what he was looking for, but only one was within a day's drive of Palestine.
"It doesn't matter to me, but then, I think about my mom wanting to see me play," Peterson said. "If USC was about where Arkansas is ... I probably wouldn't be committed."
I know USC is still going to send him a LOI paper on Feb. 3rd, and maybe Peterson will change his mind and go with his heart. Good luck to Peterson wherever he ends up. Personally, I think OU is the best choice for him (unless he wants a better education) but I would be estatic to see him at USC!!!
