The O/U for the NFC Championship is set at 47.5 points, the highest total on an Eagles game this season. Seems odd with the Philadelphia offense struggling this postseason and Arizona getting irregular amounts of turnovers which have led to short fields. Both teams have benefited from defensive touchdowns and Philadelphia basically scored two as Samuel returned an INT to the 1-yard line last week. I credit the both teams for scoring touchdowns in these situations but still. In my opinion coaches tend to become more conservative in the playoffs, especially with a chance for the Super Bowl on the line. They coach not to lose, rather than to win.

The Eagles are making their fifth appearance in the championship in eight years. The totals for the previous four games..37, 17, 37, and 53 points. Hmm....

wayne, i favor the over

eagles played against top two defenses in their past two games, giants and vikings loaded up to stop the run, even with that last game total was 34 and 40, could have easily gone over with one more big play

i see the nfc championship game will be played looser, more fun, up tempo kind of shoot out, it's in arizona and i don't think the atmosphere will let either team play conservative, both teams should let it all hang loose

westbrook been shut down for two straight games, i don't bet on it happening for a third game

and cardinals receivers are HUGE, they will keep moving the chains against the smaller eagles secondary and put up points

when i first saw the total for arizona-carolina game, i thought that would be the easiest over in history, and we all know what happened, this one looks tougher and i think that's a good thing

with the way things go in the playoffs, one total goes over and one goes under, i like ravens-steelers game to stay under, even though i hate betting unders, ravens defense will play a hell of a lot better than the chargers and the steelers offense may regress to the form where they took a lot of criticism for ass-offense

Baltimore Ravens (+3) 13 at Tennessee Titans 10 Total 33? UNDER

Arizona Cardinals (+10) 33 at Carolina Panthers 13 Total 49? UNDER

Sun Jan 11 2009
Philadelphia Eagles (+4) 23 at New York Giants 11 Total 39 UNDER

San Diego Chargers (+6?) 24 at Pittsburgh Steelers 35 Total 38? OVER

w/all the commercial timeouts it is real hard for teams to keep a flow in the offense. On the other hand it gives a defense gasping for air a chance to regroup...

IMHO Philly doesn't want a shootout and Cards will do everthing in the power to limit turnovers given the results of their last meeting w/Eagles.

Ravens will hit a wall..Steelers will exploit Ravens secordary.

:director: NFL...anything can and will happen

Don't have stats to back up, but at first glance over the past several years more unders than overs In playoff championships games. I like Philly under and Pitt over as of now. Will continue to look but Pitt's last game over and Balt will have to pass it to move the chains against Pitt, they either move the chains or turn it over. Everyone will bet the under, it will go over! I'll be at the game,GL!:SIB
