I'm not sure why so many people are on the Canes either. Yes, I know they have an undefeated record against Atlanta. And yes, the Thrasher's play lately has been anything but spectacular. But, how can anyone justify the chalk on the Canes? -209 ML and -144 laying the half a goal? On a team that has failed to score more than 2 goals in 7 of their last 8 games?
The Hurricanes are in thier annual December/Winter slump. The same thing happened last year, and it took threats of firing their well-liked coach for them to right the ship. I would place a small wager on Atlanta except for the fact that Dafoe is in net and his GAA lately is something astronomical around 4!?!
I'm not saying the Canes won't win, but I don't know how in the world they should lay that much chalk for a team that's been playing like such shite. Not to mention that Weekes may be in net, who knows what kind of form he may be in. If anything, I'd lean to the under, but with Dafoe and Weekes that's iffy. Might put a small play on Atlanta.
