I kinda think there is value in the Twins at 22-1.to win the WS......They have decent starting pitching,a great closer and play good defense..........and they are pretty good at home.
They seem to have the central wrapped up and when things got tight in the last 3 weeks they have played pretty well. They have played well vs the good teams in the AL.

Any other opinions????

I know this has nothing to do with this bet but I also took the Pistons at long odds and that came thru.........

I dig it a tad .... i think they can for sure win the AL .... win all depend on who comes out of the NL as to what they can do in the series(if they get there). My two concerns for the twins are these ....

1. There a major injury away from a very average team ... Santana going to throw a lot of innings this year and that may catch up with him late September into the post-season. Remember he was a reliver half of last year and years before that.

2. Nathan is piling up innings as well and has actually looked human his last few apperances.

Minny are more than likely to play both AL series on the road...Unless a wild card team can win the first round and Minny does so too.

Good Luck

2 yrs ago Anaheim and last yr Florida both played every series as the road team not having the hfa.......they both won.
Maybe the hm field just doesnt mean as much as other sports.

Maybe with the early season Joe Nathan, but not with the current version. He's starting to look tired. Not sure, but got to believe this is the most work he's seen in his career.

I was going to point out nathan also, he does look a lil used up at this point in the season, but minny would have to have lights out pitching to win it all. don't know if they could produce that come playoff time. Gotta believe santana's numbers will deteriate at some point or playoff time. Plus once you get past Santana & Radke the other 2 starters are at a whopping 4.71 & 5.23 era. don't think santana or radke can go on 3 days rest, and with the lack of a quality 5th starter i think it hurts this team. Minny bullpen though has been very productive.

Now to the batting side of it. Minny bats don't really scare the heck out of anyone. Koskie has been hot and jones, stewart, ford are solid but come post time they will see really good pitching which could possibly shut this minny o down. Should they have to go on the Road they have driven in 65 fewer runs compared to home. Their batting average also drops 14 points to .256 on the road. These numbers may not seem big at first but come playoff time I would say these will widen even more.

So with what I see from just glancing at it I would say, yes you are throwing money away. But if they could somehow have homefield I would say take a shot then. This is one of the best home playoff teams historically.

The team to watch is Anahiem, they are getting healthy, creaming the ball and the pitching is getting better and better. This team is going to be scary come playoff time if they could make it. And if they do the stankees are goin down.

Just my opinion.

GL TO ALL!
