They probably wont ban the whole club, but they probably will ban the use of fireworks or pyrotechnics in the clubs.

The ironic thing is, when there is a fire at a dance club it often DOES result in changes to the industry that are similar to one?s being spoken of regarding firearms.

Let's say, for sake of argument, that there are three types of gun homicides.
Type 1, which you illustrate, is an accidental shooting, by which I mean the shooter didn't want the victim dead. Shooting a family member because they came home late, pointing a "I didn't know it was loaded" gun, allowing children access to guns, mistaken identity.
Requiring all gun owners to receive training would help this. Many states now require professional training for a carry permit. Those folks don't much worry me, as they are usually responsible.
Type 2 I'll cal intentional killings: one gangsta kills another. I don't care about these. Both parties are criminals, so if one ends up dead, and the other in jail, it's a win/win. In the same category are legitimate self defense killings. An armed criminal puts you in fear of your life, so you shoot him. Point a gun at a cop, you die. No problem.
Type 3 are the fun killers, and this includes the mass murders, and the random drive-bys, killing people they don't even know because it gives these killers a stiffie. These types virtually always use semi-auto, high cap guns, even full auto when they can get them. Take away those "black guns" and you stop lots of those killings. When's the last time a gagnsta used a four-shout bolt action or a SxS shotgun?
"Assault" weapons are good for hunting? Pure bullshit. I now many serious big game hunters, and not one of them would use an AR-15 or .223 cartridge. They use real big game stuff, .270 or .30-'06 and highly accurate rifles. And the pistol marksmen? No Glock junk for them.
You're right, the gun owners are in many cases "fucked up". They believe themselves to be Rambos and have wet dreams about killing someone with their self-defense weapons.
47 people died by getting hit by a MTA subway car in 2011. Currently, you can see an increased police presence on the platforms, and these officers writing court summons to anyone they observe standing in the yellow zone, end of the platform area. 1475 people have died since Sandy Hook (Dec. 14th) by the way of gun violence, and we can't even begin a serious conversation about what to do about the gun issue in this country.
