Is my computer dead??

My computer picked up some kind of terrible virus. The good news is I was able to disarm the viruses ( a LOT of them).

The bad news is when I turn on the computer, all the icons show up, but when I double click on them, nothing happens.

I decided to reinstall the entire operating system, but after the cd is inserted, nothing happens.

Any experts out there with any ideas? Or do you think its :sadwave: :sadwave: :sadwave: ??

The same shit happened to me last week. CPU froze and all icons were useless. So I reinstalled XP and nothing happened.

I think I held down F2 or F12 while I restarted again and a Dos screen appeared. (I have a Dell) I clicked the reinstall part and not to repair.

It took 45 Min but it was worth it. My CPU is blazing fast now.

:director: BTW - you will lose everything you have saved on your CPU. You start over like it just came out of the box.
