from what I heard is that he is suspended for the mandatory 1 game following the ejection. Since he was the only one throwing punches he should get 10 more games. But Stern will protect him and give probably an additional 2. Anyone else in the league would get 10.

PS he fights like a girl I think he was trying to slap him to death.

Oh, come one, give me a break. Shaq does use his size to his advantage, bullying his way down low, and many instances a game he should be called for charging that the refs let go. But I have never seen him being the instigator of any flagarant fouls. He gets hacked over and over again every game. When Shaq commits a foul, he's always going after the ball, not the body, and certainly not to hurt anyone. If he wanted to hurt someone, it doesn't take a genius to figure out that he could do it with ease. I'm a huge Purdue fan, and I like Brad Miller, but Christ, go for the f**king ball, don't hack the guy. That "punch" he threw was not directed at Brad Miller, rather to all the big men who step on the court with one thing in mind....foul/hack him as hard as you can when he gets the ball down low. He simply got fed up with the hacking and just blew up in that game. The refs have to take some blame in this as they let the hacking go game after game.

I have to admit, though, that "punch" was kind of weak. But for Brad Miller's and Shaq's sake, I'm glad it didn't connect.

Oakley would bury Shaq?? Please tell me you're joking. I'll admit he might not have the best aim, but if he did connect with that first punch, Miller would be in the hospital. As for Oakley, Shaq would kick the shit out of that old man. Look at the size of him 7'1" 350 lbs. compared to Oakley 6'9" 245 lbs.

Pretty serious. If you can't connect on a guy with his back to you, how are you going to connect on someone that is fighting back.

Size doesn't mean much when it comes down to it. Now if you put me (5'10"-190) up against Shaq then there are obvious match-up problems.

But in my opinion Oakley would put it on Shaq. Unless, of course, he showed up like this...

He may need to wear that the next time he plays in Chicago after the way he was being fouled. I don't think height would be an issue in a Oakley vs. Shaq matchup, but Shaq almost weighs a 100 lbs. more than Oakley and there would be a lot more behind his punch (if he actually could connect one or two). :)

It's just gonna be a lot of shoving, staring, air-slapping, jersey-ripping, trash talking, coaches around your ankle hanging on to dear life. You know, typical NBA fights.

All this comes down to is that the officiating is to blame. If I were Shaq, I would blown up a long time ago. The officials should be calling some flagrant fouls on this. This does not give Shaq the right to retaliate the way he did.

We all must admit that Mark Cuban is 100% correct on how poor the officials are. If Nolan Dalla concentrated on the NBA, I think he would think the same thing.

Pass Interference is not near the joke that travelling is in the NBA. If you are over 6'10" and you sold at least 1,000 pairs of shoes last year, you get four steps.

a punch like that?!?!? I don't know it was weak... Throwing like that Shawn Bradley would kick his a**. Wrap him up like a snake and swallow him head first.....but he is mormon and wouldn't do that..........unless he had to.........like if he was going door to door to spread the word and Shaq dissed him...then......you never know. ....... lol

Totally agree with you dawg, the refs do share the blame in this matter. Shaq DID NOT have the right to retaliate by throwing punches at people but the guy is only human. I probably would have done the same thing (except land my punches :) ). He will have to continue to deal with this issue throughout his career and will need to find another way to vent.
