Man they suck!! For as Big a school as they are you'd think SOMEBODY would want to play Hoops there..Too bad because O'brien is as nice as they come and a pretty darn good coach to boot.(No Pun intended) He just has no one to coach. Maybe he's just not a good recruiter.I dunno

for whatever reason, ohio state has always had trouble keeping local talent at home. now explain that to me. you have the largest university in the country and you cant convince kids to stay at home and play in the big 10. its amazing how many kids from right in columbus leave the state. cincinnati does a much much better job recruiting cleveland than ohio state.
I cant believe I am gonna respond to this during the playoff game, but I can tell you EXACTLY why this team is not good. A local caller on the Ohio State radio network hit the nail RIGHT on the head the other day.....
Jim O'Brien is an EXCELLENT X's and O's coach....not many guys understand the college game better. However.....O'Brien has always been a guy that does not go after not notch talent. He prides himself on getting upstanding kids that will be good team guys. That is how we went to the Final Four in 1999. We had a lot of great college basketball players.....not guys that were ready for the NBA just good kids that were good in college.
Well since them.....O'Brien has fielded a bunch of non-athletic type guys....and some of them like Tony Stockman are not even great team guys. You dont even see the hustle in this team as in the past. I knew this team would suck from the moment I saw them.
O'Brien has himself a team full of MAC talent and they play lazy. They wont survive the BIG 10 and may only win a game or 2 the rest of the way.

Buckeyes are bad, I imagine a couple of good local high school teams could play with them. We like Jim locally but this has to change. Yes there are a lot of local boys that leave town for one reason or another, Samaki Walker went to Louisville, Gary Trent went to Ohio U, LABRON well you know the story.
