don't worry, i'll sum things up.
this walking piece of excrement was a member of trump's defense team last year. he has zero prosecutorial experience. so naturally trump thinks he's qualified to be a US Attorney.
however, since this unqualified turd probably can't get through the Senate, pam bondi named him interim US Attorney for the Northern District of NY. that appointment was good through 7/14.
in june, he claimed he was attacked outside of a hotel in Albany. there is video in one of the links. for most of the video, sarcone sure seems to be doing everything he can to antagonize a man who turned out to be mentally unstable. that man allegedly had a knife, but never got within 20 feet of sarcone. if you watch the video, sarcone clearly was never in fear of injury except for a few seconds when he ran away. anyway, did he call 911? nope, he took the time to call the cell phone of the Albany County Sheriff. anyway, sarcone pushed for the man to be charged with attempted murder. i mean, the guy is brown, after all. that charge was dismissed a short time later. so after the incident, sarcone made sure to criticize the Albany police for their slow reaction time. keep in mind, he called the sheriff, not the police. so that delay was completely his fault, but he wanted to blame the democrats who run Albany.
this is where it gets really fun. in the 2nd link, you'll see that in the paperwork after that incident, sarcone listed an address in Albany. after all, under a U.S. statute, the chief federal law enforcement officer in NY's Northern District is required to reside within its 32-county region. only problem? that residence is boarded up and hasn't had a certificate of occupancy since last year. (side note - yes, i know any maga reading this have long since given up. they lack the ability to absorb this many facts, and their eyes glazed over a while ago. but don't worry, we're fairly close to the end.) it's a fun read, as both sarcone and the developer who owns the property fall all over themselves with one bullshit excuse after another.
in order to continue as US Attorney, sarcone needed to be nominated to the position by the president or, in the absence of that, an extension issued by a panel of federal judges. sarcone told a local tv station on 7/11 that the judges were going to extend him. which forced the judges to issue a statement that, and i paraphrase, sarcone is full of shit. sure enough, a few days later they officially declined to extend him in that role.
but don't worry! pam bondi has named sarcone the first assistant U.S. attorney AND special attorney to the attorney general. that extends him for another 210 days.
so this piece of unqualified shit will continue in this role for who knows how much longer.
