You knew after Vancouver blew a 2 game lead at home vs. Detroit that they were done. You knew that when Montreal lost that 3 goal lead vs. Carolina they were done. I have a hunch that the loss last night to lose back home ice advantage may be the death knell for the Leafs especially with the Leafs losing Mogilny. I hope I'm wrong though.

if the Senators series told you anything about this team, they are far from done. They will win this series, mark that down. It may be in 7 games, but they will win it.

Myron,

I think the injuries are finally catching up to the Leafs. Sundin is rusty, Tucker and Domi are not hitting due to their injuries, Quinn is ill and the entire team looks look it is not playing as a unit. Give credit though to the canes for playing exceptional hockey.

The only thing I don't understand is why haven't the coaching staff of the Leafs allowed Dempsey to play????

Tomorrow's game will indicate how much gas this team has left in their gas tank...

Thoughts

I am an Edmonton Oiler fan living in Windsor, ON which is across the river from Detroit and down the 401 highway from Toronto. So I am pretty objective but have followed these series closely. From the looks of it, the Leafs are hitting the wall. Two seven game series with a banged up team will do that to you.

Knowing the Leafs, they will win Games 5 and 6 only to lose Game 7 in overtime and add extra heartbreak to all Leafs fans. It just looks like there ain't any gas left in the tank for this squad and although it has looked that way at other times throughout this playoff season for the Leafs...this time I think it will come to fruition in the results.

The odd thing here in Windsor is that you have Red Wings fans cheering for the Leafs which is totally uncharacteristic. The whole city would go bonkers over a Leafs/Red Wings final. Although my buddy added a good point when he said, "Yeah, this city would be crazy for those four games!" implying a Red Wings sweep.

All in all, Leaf fans will be disappointed, but they have had a fantastic playoff season in my opinion when considering all the injuries and adversity this team has faced over the course of the last month and a half. First CuJo goes down before the playoffs, Yushkevich is out for the season, Sundin gets injured in the first round, the controversial hits of Gary Roberts and Darcy Tucker in the Islander series, the Daniel Alfredsson hit on Tucker that set up the game winner in Game 5 that made it look like Ottawa would win the series. The Leafs have done well and will have to look to add some youth up front with some offensive punch as well as signing a first-rate goaltender as I believe CuJo heads to Philadelphia.

Good luck in selling a RED WINGS/AVALANCHE and a Hartford Whalers errrrrrr Carolina Hurricanes Stanley Cup Final. Should help the objective of the NHL to increase the popularity and the fan base of the NHL. If it came down to a Stanley Cup Final game or a WWF and/or Truck and Tractor pull event which would the average Carolina fan choose? Think a long hard minute before you answer that question Gary Bettman!

The Leafs are done, stick a fork in them

I believe that the Leafs have come to the end of their
season. I am not saying however that I would necessarily
load up on the 'Canes, but would defintely have a strong
lean and a small play on Carolina to close this series out.
Carolina -160 is a lot of juice, but Toronto is truly running
out of steam and bodies in this series.

If Leafs win tonight they take the series in 7.

Actually I think the other series is most likely over. Colorado is proving to be a better team and the Wings are running out of steam. Also Roy is playing like the superstar he is while Hasek has looked shaky. Take the Avalanche -115 to close out the series tomorrow.

Also if you are up for it you may want to take the Avalanche at 70-75 on WSEX's future market for an easy $25 per share. No way will the East beat the West this year.
