Crowell was a thug mofo from day one

playing like he was hurt, taking himself out of game, running his mouth to other team and refs, arguing with coachs, acting like he shouldnt be hit that hard and jumping up to fight.

In his mamas car with a gun with ser # ground off.
Smell of grass.

Too bad for him the police have ways to restore the orginal ser #. If they trace that gun to a crime which is usually the only way it would be on the street like that, Crowell is going to the big house.

And the other 4 players that were with him should all be drug tested and suspended if they are dirty .

Geez it never stops for Georgia with this crap.

Hopefully Marshall and the other young backs can step up.

good riddance to bad trash Jack Wagon Crowell

You are right. There is no financial incentive for coaches not to go after these guys. As a matter of fact, if you are not going after at least some of them it seems you are being left behind. The NCAA doesn't want to get tough because football is a cash cow, and the schools dont want to get tough because of the money brought in by their football teams, so why not take on guys with super talent and baggage. For the record however, UGA has had one of if not the toughest policy on suspensions/drugs and were at the forefront of it all. A lot of good that looks like it is doing:facepalm:

ATHENS ? Isaiah Crowell getting arrested and kicked off the team may have been a blessing in disguise for the Georgia Bulldogs.

So thinks former Georgia coach and athletic director Vince Dooley. I was interviewing Coach Dooley on Monday for another project I?m doing for the AJC when the subject of Crowell came up. Crowell, a rising sophomore and former 5-star recruit who was the Bulldogs? leading rusher last season, was dismissed by head coach Mark Richt following Crowell?s arrest on felony weapons charges. Crowell has since transferred to Alabama State, an FCS program in Montgomery, Ala., and started classes on Monday.

That chain of events may help the Bulldogs in the long run, Dooley contends.

?I don?t want to put any pressure on them, but losing that guy may have been the best thing to happen to them,? said Dooley, who coached the Bulldogs to six SEC championships and one national title in 25 seasons. ?It was a bad-apple type thing, if you ask me.?

?Bad apple? was the second term Dooley used to describe Crowell?s effect on the team. The first was more effective but he asked me not to use it.

Dooley said Crowell undoubtedly is a talented football player and probably was the Bulldogs? best option at tailback. But the negative effects as far as being a troublemaker and a distraction far out-weighed any skills he brought to the field, Dooley said.

Georgia, of course, is generally considered the favorite to repeat as the SEC Eastern Division champions and play in the SEC Championship. That is, if the Bulldogs are still able to field a team. With Crowell out and linebacker Brandon Burrows? recent decision to transfer in search of more playing time, Georgia has dipped below 70 scholarship players heading into next season. The NCAA allows 85.

Dooley also offered what I thought was one of the more insightful observations I?ve heard about Crowell as a running back last season. As we all know, Crowell?s toughness was questioned as he often pulled himself out of games or found himself sidelined with minor injuries. Dooley thought there might have been a good solution for that.:scared

?Looking back at it, he would have been a great second-half running back,? Dooley said. ?I never wanted that guy around in the fourth quarter if he started the game, because it seemed like he?d had enough by then. But I would?ve loved to have him around in the third or fourth quarter if he hadn?t played any to that point. Imagine once the defense gets tired and he comes in. He could?ve been a superstar second-half player. Herschel [Walker] got stronger in the fourth; this guy got weaker. So I would?ve waited until the second half to play him. He was pretty doggone good when he was fresh. That might?ve been a good idea looking back at it.?

yeh they should have used that thug mofo only in the second half.

Just like they should have kept him out of school until football season started.

Crowell, a rising sophomore, was dismissed by the Bulldogs this past Friday. He faces two felony weapons charges and one misdemeanor charged after a 9-mm Luger handgun with an defaced serial number was found underneath the driver?s seat of the 2005 Mercury Grand Marquis he was driving.

Reached by telephone Thursday, Sadow said he will be representing Crowell ?pro bono,? which means he won?t be charging for his services. Sadow has represented such high-profile clients as the rapper T.I., and defended former Georgia basketball player Tony Cole on a rape charge, which was eventually dismissed.:SIB

Sadow said he reached out to Crowell via social media after reading reports of his arrest and seeing ?some serious problems with the search? of Crowell?s vehicle that resulted in his arrest. Sadow said he met with Crowell this past Tuesday to discuss the case.

?My inclination based on reading the police report is to question the validity of the search,? Sadow said. ?I?m hoping that somebody takes a real, close, careful look at this. The University of Georgia has already taken action, so whatever the prosecutor determines regarding an invalid or unlawful search, that?s not going to change Isaiah?s career at the University of Georgia. One way or another he?s certainly moved on.?

?I do know his intention is to play football and his intention is to play football as soon as he possibly can,? Sadow said.

Sadow added that his only connection with Crowell is with his court case. ?I?m not going to be his adviser,? he said.

The felony charges notwithstanding, Crowell would be immediately eligible at Alabama State since it is a Football Championship Subdivision (FCS) school (formerly Div. I-AA). NCAA rules require a transfer to sit out one year when transferring from one Football Bowl Subdivision school to another.

It would be somewhat unusual for a player of Crowell?s caliber to transfer to an FCS school. Typically a high-profile athlete of his ilk would transfer to junior college for a year, then return to the FBS via another school. That was the route chosen by former Georgia quarterback Zach Mettenberger, who stood accused of a felony. Mettenberger transferred to Butler (Kansas) Community College and played one year before landing at LSU, where he?s expected to start this coming season.
..........................................................

The problem I always have with this kind of situation is that if this were you or me , we would be serving time.

A gun with scraped off ser # is serious shit to cops.

Will they not investigate and find out where the gun came from and if was used in any criminal activity ?

Probation is what he gets.

Does Maurice Clarett ring a bell to anyone

Isaiah you should have listened more carefully to Jay-Z?s song 99 problems from the Black Album:

??.So I?pull over to the side of the road
And I heard ?Son do you know why I?m stopping you for??
Cause I?m young and I?m black and my hat?s real low
Do I look like a mind reader sir, I don?t know
Am I under arrest or should I guess some mo?
?Well you was doing fifty five in a fifty four?
?License and registration and step out of the car?
?Are you carrying a weapon on you I know a lot of you are?
I ain?t stepping out of sh*t all my papers legit
?Do you mind if I look round the car a little bit??
Well my glove compartment is locked so is the trunk and the back
And I know my rights so you gon? need a warrant for that
?Aren?t you sharp as a tack are some type of lawyer or something??
?Or somebody important or something??
Nah I ain?t passed the bar but I know a little bit
Enough that you won?t illegally search my sh*t??

I was going to write something clever in reference to Crowell and the similar sad story of Maurice Clarett but the KOD covered that. What the hell is wrong with this guy? Is it not enough motivation to pursue an NFL career and make millions of dollars to get out of the Hood? No its young men like this that act all hard and carry a gun like someones going to "step" to them and take their daily hustle away. What are u trying to be gangster for when u have 1st round draft money waiting on u?

I am sure its a product of how he was raised and the diva attitude that being a #1 running back coming out of HS.

That last game he played at Georgia pretty much showed what he was about.

Jumping up when tackled too hard.

Talking back to Coach Richt in front of everyone.

Limping after every tackle.

Tasking himself out of the game.

I think this kid is in trouble.

Who is going to control him at Alabama St. He will try to run over everything and be in the thug life with his homes.

I dont see him making it in the NFL. Maybe end up as a second round chance pick, but he wont be no star in the NFL.
