Illinois State's men?s basketball team will be without two reserves this weekend in the Missouri Valley Conference tournament, the university announced Thursday.
Redshirt freshman center Jordan Threloff will be sidelined 4 to 6 weeks after suffering a fracture in his right thumb in a Tuesday practice. Junior guard Trey Blue didn?t make the trip to St. Louis because of the birth of his first child, a son, Carter.
Threloff has played in all 30 games this season, averaging 3.2 points and 3.3 rebounds.
?I feel badly for the team,? ISU coach Tim Jankovich said in a statement. ?No one wants to go into a conference tournament without your entire team.
"I feel even worse for Jordan, because he doesn?t get the opportunity to play in his first conference tournament. He has been coming on for us as of late, and has been playing really well.?
