Imagine if Zack Randolph,Jason Richardson and Marcus Taylor were playing today for Izzo.These guys all leave for the NBA and here Izzo is again in the Final 8 and a shot at the final four for the 4th time in 5 yrs.
Very few had Mich St going this far.But Izzo is one of the best teachers in the game.Rebounding and defense.Thats why he has been "dancing" in March when teams with much better talent are on the sidelines scratching their heads.
Spartans today meet a well coached Texas team with a great pt gd in TJ.Texas has Ivey,Mouton outside and Thomas and co inside.They also play pressure defense and are physical.
But MSU's mucle is a little bit stronger inside.Anagonye and Davis are big 6'8 and 6'11 "space eaters".They can control the paint and I think that will be Texas's downfall.Texas gave Conn 21 off. rebounds.Throw in Ballinger and a few others and Texas's 3 gd offense is in trouble.MSU destroyed Marylands frontline and held Florida to 46 pts
UT's best with 3 gds and uptempo style but they don't matchup well vs Spatans frontline.True MSU has no true pt gd but Mich St help side defense is great.
I'll take the 4.5 pts.TJ might hit a running layup to win the game but Mich St covers or wins outright with its superior defense and rebounding.

OU -3 over Cuse
Only because of experience.four of these guys were in the final 4 last yr.Hollis and co are quicker then the Cuse.They play better defense,shoot better,and Ere woke up.
OU defense esp at the gd spot can shut people down.Look what they did to Butlers 2 outstanding gds.[Archey and Miller-total 13 pts] White just hounds you down.Mac will have him in his face all game.OU is a tough team to score against.Cuse is loaded with talent.Carmelo,Duany,Warrick,etc
Playing in Albany gives Jimmy Boe a big time advantage.But OU is a B-12 team and plays all those great B-12 teams on the road.
Much has been said about Boe's 2-3 zone and Sampson hasen't seen any.Thats true,no one plays zone in the B-12 except in certain situations.
But in "Coaching 101" if I have great shooters I want teams to play zone.Price and Ere will get open looks and if Boe plays his zone like they did vs Auburn this game is a blowout.Auburn not know for their 3 pt shooting thought they were on the boardwalk at a shooting gallery.
Carmelo hasen't put a total game together since the tourney and today he might have a breakout game but the "Sooner Assasins" who are seniors will take advantage of the inexperienced Cusemen.Bookout and Brown will play the Cuse frontline even but the OU gds are much better.
OU has beaten this yr Mich St.Texas,and Kansas.Cuse has beaten Pitt.Seniors the past 3 Final 4's have won with Cleaves,Battier,and Dixons as their leaders.Throw Price in there...

La Tech +7 over LSU....maybe this is a sentimental pick.Lady Techsters dominated womans basketball yrs ago. Always in the final 4 vs the Tenn's ODU's,etc.
Now LSU has arised with much more talent then the lady Techs despite their 29 game winning streak.Yet LSU and Tech have only played 2 times in the past 12 yrs.LSU won't play them.Imagine 2 teams from the same state.Kinda like Louisville-Kentucky series.
But now LSU is forced to play them in the final 8 in Cal today.Lsu has Temeka Johnson one of the best players in the country.She broke her cheekbone but will play.I hope she does play because nothing would be sweeter then the Lady techsters kicking the hell out of the Tigers with her playing.
