Two smaller events but must be easier to solve than the matchplay!

AAMI

Laura Diaz 25/1 - a large price imo..she had a tune up last week and her Aussie schedule for the first time since her LET days suggest she means business from the off this year.
Rebecca Stevenson 66/1 (50 now) Former Aussie Amateur champ looks to be a future star...gave Laura and Karrie a fright last week, ok in Players C'ship and beat Laura in a two round pro-am a few weeks back
Iben Tinning 66/1 - tied fifth last week and far too big a price
Rachel Teske 16/1 - new fitness prog about to pay dividends? Should be 2nd fav in my opinion.

Most books have competely discounted the chances of the Nationwide players for the JCreek event. Anybody with ideas on who might stand a chance...Molder did well last year?

I've discounted their chances as well ;)

Outright plays (1.5 units):

Nick O'Hern to win 12/1 e.w. @ Centrebet
Not many firms pricing up this event, so no getting rich quick this week, particularly as the three selections head the market at single figures with SkyBet. With a third of the field starting their season this week and four of the top-five places filled by home players last year, there should again be a strong advantage for the home players. Kooyonga had previous hosted the Ford South Australian Open and is a narrow tree-lined course that has also hosted five Australian Opens. Accuracy off the tee and course knowledge have been important factors behind this week's picks and O'Hern can combine that with excellent form. He was 8th in 1999 and 3rd in 2000 and finished 2nd in the ANZ Championship a few weeks ago. His 38th place finish in the Johnnie Walker Classic two weeks ago was the only time in the last six events that he has finished outside the top-20. After a week's rest, he should be back to his best.

Peter O'Malley to win 14/1 e.w. @ Stan James
O'Malley has had a slow start to the season, yet for a 2nd round 75 in the difficult Friday conditions in the Johnnie Walker Classic, he would have finished very highly in that event. With his game returning and coming back to a course on which his worst finish has been 11th in five previous visits, this looks to be O'Malley's best event of the year so far.

Jarrod Moseley to win 16/1 e.w. @ Stan James
Moseley can't match O'Malley for driving accuracy and greens in regulation stats, but he is not far behind in these important categories this week. He won the Australian PGA Championship at the end of last year and was a top-5 finisher in the ANZ Championship earlier this month, so looks in good shape for this event. Difficult to envisage none of these securing a place finish.

Just the one bet here for me - Mark Hensby - played well to finish t6th here last year - an excellent GIR player who was actually born in Melbourne but played mostly in the US - always goes well early doors - 150/1 WAS the price at Centrebet yesterday now best priced 125/1 Stan James (only 40/1 Skybet)

Matchup play (1.5 units):

Peter O'Malley to beat Andre Stolz -118 @ Centrebet
Stolz may have finished 2nd (by 10 shots!) to Els last week, but he has not really impressed on the Australasian Tour over the past three months and his course form is patchy at best - two missed cuts, two further finishes outside the top-50 and 11th last year. This is a much tighter course than last week and O'Malley, as shown by his course form, should come to the fore.

Gonna take a one barrel shot at the bush this week.
AAMI Womens Australian Open - Top 5 - Corinne Dibnah 17/1

Really like your go on Stevenson Clive but best(and only)place I could get was 15/2 so opted for this local. Don't know damn thing about her except she threw in clinker (74)midway and a 70 there would have cashed a top 5 and tie for low rd (66) final day seems encouraging.

question? I noticed B&W had bush lined but it appears to me it is win only, can you bet E/W and I am not navigating correctly?--and it appears they have have removed parlay option on matches entirely as I now get this

Good choice DTB.

Ian and I got a place on her at this event with good ole Bet24hrs two yrs ago. She's a veteran, and switched to belly putter this winter..always does well in these events.

JCreek outrights for me:

Andre Stoltz 20/1 despite being on Stan's hit-list!
Terry Price 40
Peter Fowler 25 ...bigger at Bernsteins, but I haven't had an acc there for years

Am assuming Aussies will dominate again...like O'Hern and Moseley, but having backed them at 50, 66 & 80 this year can't make myself bet them at current prices.

Was tempted to have a match bet Stoltz v O'Malley, who was last in the putting stats in the Johnnie Walker, but will settle for Stan finally buying me that pint of a lunchtime in Oxford some time!

I read your comments about O'Hern, Moseley & O'Malley on your site, Clive ... looks like we'll just have to disagree this week

On a course that has been a five-time venue for the Australian Open, I would sooner have O'Malley who was 1st in greens in regulation at Lake Karrinyup than Paul Sheehan who was 1st in the putting stats :p

I'm just trying to comprehend DTBs post regarding betandwin...what if he'd backed the winner of this week's event...would they merely refund his stake
OR
If he'd had some kind of ante-post wager that had shortened considerably..like Els for money list...they couldn't just refund stakes...these guys are the biggest joke around...outrageous!

Anyway...

JC C'ship...huge am/pm difference today, only one player under par, Todd Rose, who has an uninspiring record...was tempted to play up Fowler, but decided against it.

The same has happened in the AAMI event too, and whilst Moodie of the early starters this evening has been mentioned elsewhere I have added;

Catriona Matthew 66/1 who is only one shot behind Moodie, yet over three times the price at Centrebet.

Believe my gal spit the bit BIG time 81 YIKES!!!!!

Don't have any futures there but have four $25 matches pending which will be concluded by Monday deadline.Wasn't much there especially after they cut off parlays so not a big deal. What baffles me is how some of these wil let you still bet in there casinos(no laws broken there) but can't wager sports. This is 2nd time I've ran into that. Will miss their parlays a bit. Had some good ones and took adv of most of Stans broom jobs to date.
Last weeks small 3ball combo was the last I've been able to wager--but left on winning one

I can't remember ever seeing an event where there was such a glaring difference between am/pm. Hopefully it will switch the other way round today for Teske :).... but just in case it doesn't I have also added Catriona at 66/1 (now 50/1) must have been a hell of a round yesterday to be -2.

Mid-point update:

O'Malley/Stolz Leads by 3

O'Hern 15th
O'Malley 4th
Moseley 6th

Very chance of a decent payout over the weekend. Having the Thursday am tee-time was important as the wind does get up in the afternoon on this course and it was important to have a good start to defend. Moseley was the first-round leader, but will gladly have all three tucked in behind the leaders at the halfway stage.

Final update:

Matchups: 0-0-1; -0.11 units

O'Malley/Stolz Tied

Outrights: 0-3; -4.50 units

O'Hern 19th
O'Malley 6th
Moseley 19th

Frustrating blank from a promising event. Moseley collapsed in the final round having started it in 3rd position and O'Malley looked like catching Ogilvie having been in 2nd place on his own on the back nine. Three consecutive bogeys would mean he finished one shot of a place win and four shots behind Ogilvie.

Australasian Tour ytd
Matchups: 15-12; +4.44 units
Outrights: 4-11; -5.85 units
