No shit, there was a lake (pond) that when I was 14 it was called Crystal Lake (in Manchester NH). I remember hearing stories of kids that got caught in the weeds while trying to swim across...I remember the day I started to swim out there (must have been @ 1981), I was shitting my pants and looked down to see the weeds and then looking up to see the lifeguard calling me in....well long story short, I made it....but it still haunts me to this day...
