Upstairs watching sports on the big TV.
Actually, the Hard Rock Tulsa is a Creek Indian Nation Casino in Catoosa Oklahoma, but what the heck....just doesn't have the same ring as "Tulsa".

Jay Leno, what can you say? A man's man car collector and an all around great guy.

We missed him in Vegas the last 3 years, so he came to us in Oklahoma, who would have thunk it.

His brand of humor is timeless, no cursing, just well told funny stories and anecdotes.

If you were a fan of his tonite show monologues, imagine
an hour and a half (precisely) of the same, on topics from A-Z. He stopped for 20 seconds for a drink of water.

What I particullary enjoyed was Jay talking about his youth and family. It made the performance a little more personal.
I have seen several of the greats live (Dangerfield, Rickles)
and family quirks are a well proven recipe.
Jay is from Boston area, Italian dad who was a boxer, sold insurance and Jays mother is Scotch.

The Comic that he was influenced the most by was Bernie Allen. (of Rossi and Allen fame, 60's)

He still remembers the first joke he heard at a Bernie Allen show at an insurance convention when he was 13....he attended with his mother, while carrying his 2 ginger ales.

"Did you hear about the Happy Roman? (Gladiator) GLAD E ATER"

Mom removed Jay from the show, saying "thats it"...

Jay said, "I was 13 I didn't get the joke till 9 years later
while stopped at a red light.."

Its a wonderful experience to see a seasoned comedian at the absolute top of his game, if you get the chance and want an hour and a half of almost constant laughter....
see Jay Leno.

A side note...behind us were 2 twenty something dumb blonds who were oblivious to the show and were carrying on a non-stop conversation. Figure they got free tickets and had no idea who Jay Leno was, or could care less.
I had to strain my ears to listen to Leno, not them.
The gentleman directly in front of them asked for quiet, was ignored.
I finally snapped... I swung around, glared at them and said...."no one here has paid to listen to you two, were here for Leno."

Two minutes later they got up, announced they were leaving, many in my aisle quietly cheered.
As they passed behind me one bumped hard into me and called me a "Mother Fkr''.
I had no comeback, was simply amazed a woman would call me a MFr.....
