Just wondering what the point was, thanks for clarifying. New Orleans is often battered nationally, and more often than not unfairly. For example, has anyone brought up the possibility of shutting down cedar rapids for good and relocating the residents? Of course not, because its ludicrous to consider it. Meanwhile, there were national cries for New Oreans to be shut down following Katrina. Agent started a thread here wondering "out loud" whether we should board it up and move the residents. His main concern, as posted, for not shutting down this city was the lack of where to relocate an entire city's population. :142smilie
The general lack of respect the south receives is pretty lame, but New Orleans has been the whipping boy of the nation for far too long. I will continue to fight the good fight for respect down this way. As such, I will be actively campaigning for Jefferson's opponent.
Last election, Jefferson won majority black precincts with 79% of the vote. Take away the white voters, who made up most of the 21% voting the other way, and it appears he received well over 90% black vote last election.
There is still clear opposition- even moreso than before- to Jefferson from white voters, both educated and not. Educated blacks appear to be solidly opposed to Jefferson at this point, but the illiterate entitlement crowd will vote race all the way. The uneducated folks normally vote at a lower rate than the rest, but Jefferson & co will bus them in offering free entertainment, lunch and refreshments. No kidding:scared
I am confident he will lose. Dems should also hope that he loses, and they should strongly consider throwing this thief out of their party. Lord knows republicans would be getting slaughtered for the same. Hell, Republicans get slaughtered for being gay, yet Dems can steal without recourse? Odd to say the least imo.
