Dennis Rodman - F - Dallas Mavericks Dec 23

Dennis Rodman reportedly signed a contract with the ABA Long Beach Jam and is expected to play his first game Jan. 16.
Denver GM Kiki Vandeweghe said he plans on getting a tape of the 42-year-old Rodman's debut. ''If he really, truly wants to play again in the (NBA), he's going about it the right way,'' Vandeweghe said. Source: Denver Post
Jon Barry - G - Denver Nuggets Dec 23

Jon Barry, on the IL with a cervical strain, said he will rest at least the next three to four days.
Trainer Jim Gillen said Barry would be re-evaluated in four or five days, at which time his status will be more accurately determined. Barry had the same injury in the 1999-2000 season. ''I'm losing complete sensation in my right arm more and more each day,'' he said. ''If you don't be careful, it could be permanent.'' Source: Denver Post
Marcus Banks - G - Boston Celtics Dec 23

Marcus Banks has been buried on the Boston bench until he improves his defense.
Banks played only four second-quarter minutes Sunday, shooting 1-for-4, including two air balls and two turnovers. ''He has a pretty long way to go, as do most rookies in the NBA,'' coach Jim O'Brien said. ''He's playing for a coach who is a stickler about how he plays defense.'' O'Brien added that he thought Banks has the potential to play defense as well as Jason Kidd. Source: Boston Herald
Shane Battier - F - Memphis Grizzlies Dec 23

6-foot-8 Shane Battier started at center for the Grizzlies Monday night.
Lorenzen Wright and Stromile Swift were out, while Marcus Camby sat for Denver. Battier managed a career-high 14 rebounds as the man in the middle. Source: Memphis Commercial Appeal
Brian Skinner - F/C - Milwaukee Bucks Dec 23

Brian Skinner said after practice Monday that he was getting closer but wasn't ready yet to be activated.
Skinner averaged 11.3 points, 8.3 rebounds and 3.3 blocks in three games as a starter before undergoing knee surgery. He's about a week away. Source: Milwaukee Journal-Sentinel
Jamaal Tinsley - G - Indiana Pacers Dec 23

Jamaal Tinsley (back) returned to practice Monday, but did not travel with the team.
Tinsley has battled a severe case of the flu and still was suffering yesterday. He worked up a good sweat in practice, but began coughing up blood. Team trainers told him not to travel. Tinsley was unsure if he would be ready to come off the IL Friday and declared his status day-to-day. The one-time point guard of the present and future in Indy has fallen off the face of the earth. Kenny Anderson - G - Indiana Pacers Dec 23

Kenny Anderson, who sat out Saturday's loss at Minnesota, remains questionable with a sore left foot.
Anderson is day-to-day. Source: Indianapolis Star
Jermaine O'Neal - F - Indiana Pacers Dec 23

Jermaine O'Neal is questionable for tonight's game in Houston.
O'Neal's left knee was examined Sunday by a specialist. He has sat out some recent practices and game-day shootarounds because of tendinitis, but has not missed games. ''I'm taking it into (today) and we'll see how it goes,'' he said. Check back for updates. Source: Indianapolis Star
Reggie Miller - G - Indiana Pacers Dec 23 [b/]

The Pacers are looking for Reggie Miller to attempt more shots.
The team is struggling to find perimeter scoring against zone defenses. Miller has been used largely as a decoy to this point, and his scoring average is the lowest it's been in his career (9.4). The Pacers are 9-0 when Reggie scores in double figures. Hoist it up, man. Source: Indianapolis Star
Aaron Williams - F/C - New Jersey Nets Dec 23

Aaron Williams will miss a third consecutive game tonight with a groin injury.
Williams remains day-to-day, hopeful of avoiding the injured list. Source: New York Post
Jason Collins - C - New Jersey Nets Dec 23

Jason Collins' health status is to be determined today.
Collins hyper-extended his right knee Saturday in Milwaukee but missed practice yesterday with illness. He's currently day-to-day. Since Aaron Williams is also hurting, Kenyon Martin (banged up himself) could make his first career start at center. Source: New York Post
Elden Campbell - C - Detroit Pistons Dec 23

Elden Campbell has not played in the last three games since Mehmet Okur took over as the starting center.
Coach Larry Brown said, ''We're going to need him. I haven't totally given up on Elden by any stretch of the imagination.'' The same does not apply for your fantasy team. Dump the former starter if you haven't already. Source: Detroit Free Press
Steve Francis - G - Houston Rockets Dec 23

Steve Francis and Cuttino Mobley are questionable for tonight's game after missing Monday's practice.
The players told coach Jeff Van Gundy they were sick. Van Gundy said he did not know if they would be well enough to play tonight. But if they are healthy, he said they would start. Source: Houston Chronicle
Maurice Taylor - F - Houston Rockets Dec 23

Maurice Taylor and Kelvin Cato are both playing starters' minutes as a two-headed power forward for the Rockets.
Taylor is the offensive side, Cato the defensive. The system has worked well for the Rockets, especially after losing Eddie Griffin, but leaves both players with not much fantasy value. Source: Houston Chronicle
Juan Dixon - G - Washington Wizards Dec 23

Juan Dixon is recovering from an eye infection.
He's listed as probable for tonight's game. Source: Washington Post
Tracy McGrady - G - Orlando Magic Dec 23

Tracy McGrady was named Eastern Conference Player of the Week.
T-Mac led the Magic to a 3-1 record while averaging 26.3 points, 8.0 assists and 6.5 rebounds in the four games. It was just a matter of time. Source: Orlando Sentinel
Donnell Harvey - F - Phoenix Suns Dec 23

Orlando GM John Gabriel said the trade of Donnell Harvey to Phoenix for a second-round draft pick should go through today.
The pick will later be sent to Atlanta to complete a deal from Feb. 2000 between the Hawks and Magic. The Harvey deal has basically been done for days, but can't be officially announced until today because players who were signed as free agents can't be traded until 90 days after the day they signed. This looks like a poor deal for the Magic, who essentially get nothing but an open roster spot for a player with upside. Harvey, who has shown flashes of talent when he's gotten the minutes, will have a chance to come into his own as a reserve forward for the Suns. Source: Orlando Sentinel
Carmelo Anthony - F - Denver Nuggets Dec 23

Carmelo Anthony played Monday despite a sore toe and finished with 15 points and eight rebounds.
Anthony is going to keep playing through the injury. It's not a major concern.
Ryan Bowen - F - Denver Nuggets Dec 23

Ryan Bowen returned to action Monday and went scoreless in seven minutes.
Bowen left Saturday's game after being elbowed in the forehead.
Kendall Gill - G - Chicago Bulls Dec 23

Kendall Gill, who left Saturday's game with a sprained ankle, started Monday and scored 13 points.
Gill also had three steals and two blocks.
Marcus Camby - C - Denver Nuggets Dec 23

Marcus Camby missed tonight's game with a strained lower back.
Well, it finally happened. Camby is playing great right now, but back injuries are scary. Keep your eye on this situation, as he is currently day-to-day.
Stromile Swift - F/C - Memphis Grizzlies Dec 23

Stromile Swift missed Monday's game with a stomach virus.
He's day-to-day.
Lorenzen Wright - C - Memphis Grizzlies Dec 23

Lorenzen Wright missed tonight's game with a lower leg injury.
He's day-to-day.
