yeah, i've answered it. but i'll be glad to help ya out. my "units" i post are not exactly what i bet... it's more of a range or what i bet--really a ranking of the plays. it seems a $3 play is a typical average play... a 52%er--enough of a winner to play. as the rankings go up, the stronger the play.
i play at matchbook.com... if you're not familiar with it, go there and read the first 6 features listed on the front page (minus, i guess, the "welcome to matchbook"--unless you're gonna sign up! i highly recommend it) How to Play, Live Betting, Dollars and Sense, Smart Balance, 10 Reasons to Leave your Bookie.
i don't pay -110 on every bet. i try to never pay that... the only time i every pay that or more is on a number that's moving up everywhere and is getting ready to jump. (one of the great features of matchbook is that when a line does move and they post the new line, the old line is still offered and can be played if their is demand and supply in the market.) i would say most of the time i pay around -104 to +104, lots of times better than that. in fact, last week i had a very good day and half of my bets had + odds on them.
to boil it down... i don't keep my accounting stats for basketball in my threads, just my record (btw, i'm 7-3 on my highest ranked plays so far this year--losing one last night). i am not here to impress, it's not a contest... i'm here to be an asset to the forum and learn and better my game.
i will add, for baseball, where we don't have spreads (ignoring the RL), only MLs, where odds are the name of the game, of course i keep my unit stats in there, but i also play on matchbook and tend to get much better odds than at a typical book.
i was extrememly busy for several months from july to october and wasn't on the forum at all but my march-july record was 402-297-8 (57.5%) (59.94% on all plays--counting plays that i didn't get posted) +$1,005.79 with an average of a $5.3 unit play.
i could go through my ledger for this year and calc. my average play and my total +units for the year but i don't really have time to be doing that and i know that people that follow my picks know how well i'm doing. if you're following, good luck to us. if you really want to calculate my units record, you can ignore your "juice" and just go back through my threads for the year, i guess. but i'm guessin you don't have time for that, either. i think my 61% record speaks for itself.
