I presume by you wanting to be involved in the sports industry you mean "compiler".

If so, unless you have years of experience it will be very hard. The best way is to continually beat a book at one or two sports. Once you see the line move or had you bet referred or stake reduced you then know you are monitiored. Once this happens, ask the book to either pay you $50,000 for your plays and you will bet these plays with another book, or give you a full time job with all the perks as obviously you can cap games better than their own compiler. If they decline, inform them that many of your friends will open accounts or have allready done so and through past dealings you know what limits their sports book sets on players who win. Your friends will bet these games and have cash on for you so in effect you will be able to bet double if not treble your amount the book has limitted you to. Therefore you will probably win more than the $50,000 you requested and the book will lose this plus what ever your friends win.

If they turn you down then the book is bloody ignorant.

On the course!
I don't know that your advice would work, bulldog.

(I am not sure that 'kickserv' wasn't even refering to something like a ticket writer at a LV casino.)

At any rate, I don't know that a book would pay off a blackmailer. If you came to me with that idea, I would straight off think you were a crook, or at least, had the potential for one. If, by some miracle, you could land a job making the number for a book, why would I think you wouldn't put a bad line in here and there for those 'friends' to collect on?

I don't think too many books have their own oddsmakers, anyway. They have guys who will tweak the numbers, but most of them still subscribe to a service for their opening numbers.

Good luck in your quest!

I don't know how books are run in the US but the bottom line is there must be some compilers / odds setters.

To say it cannot be done is false.

A friend of mine won ?172,000 over three years with one bookmaker on football. That bookmaker was laying his bets off with another few books and making money from his information. When he caught wind of what was happening he wrote a letter to MD of company and informed them he was taking his business elsewhere as he was being restricted and they were profiting millions of pounds from him.

He would make a play for ?2,000, the bookmaker would make the same play for ten even twenty times that stake.

I played the games for him, along with his girlfriend and his step father. After some six months he contacted MD and told him the plays which were made and that he was still playing them but for three times the stakes that he had been before He stopped betting with them personnally.

This person still bets for a living but is paid ? 40,000 plus bonus's per annum by this sports book to provide prices for this one sport. The company have saved them selves a fortune. See with the invention of the internet you can be anybody or act for anybody and the person the other end is clueless.

SO DONT TELL ME IT CANT BE DONE WHEN I KNOW FOR A FACT IT HAS BEEN DONE.
