any thoughts on the current status of these west coast programs? a lot of these west-coast programs seem to be in transition and maybe not as good as recent editions. (of course in some cases, west coast doormats now are making their move up the standings in their respective conferences)

san diego........seems their program took a big step back now that keep is gone? is this program back to being shit? normally theyre right up there with pepperdine and gonzaga in the upper-tier of the wcc

san francisco....very enigmatic team? they seem to be just like last year. some real good wins, and then some inexplicable losses. no consistency. are they well coached? saw them play san diego at home last year in a game that had a lot riding on it and they got buried

marymount.....they for real? their schedule is deceptive. makes them appear better than they might be. sometimes teams are still very good even if they have cupcake schedules... they are always capable of beating anyone (or at least giving them a good game) but theyre also capable of clunkers. is this team gonna remind us of the hank gathers/bo kimble era? :)

not sure if you cap the big sky, but that conference is out of wack is seems. weber is the perennial power, but didnt both montana teams have high expectations? its obviously very early and conf play hasnt even started yet but when did sacto state become good? normally theyre the conference whipping boy. did they get some jucos or start getting some california talent to stay home?

thanks for the help.

ok gman2, there goes...
i prefer 2 conferences: west coast & big west
i cover all california teams as well but find more enjoyment following the smaller schools.
in terms of san diego, well they have started poorly but this squad is still coming together. brandon gay f. is going to be very good and has only played 2 games so far. also holland cost team a possible victory vs. sd st. with a technical. on saturday they were destroyed by utah scoring only 39 points in game but scored 39 points in the 1h vs. swm st. which has beaten s.f. TWICE already, each time by 21! go figure stay with them especially as home dogs or careless teams.
well san francisco has a screamer for a coach and team is prone to turnovers. they can be 3rd or 4th best in competitive wcc but they need cox to comeback from injury (cox is a cousin of kobe bryant).
lmu is a team on the rise! they weren't ready for unlv but either was cal or sc... lions are missing best player: worthy. don't know when he is coming back but team has 2 very good senior forwards in keith kincade (transferred from w.v.) and sherman gay who both played at nationally ranked dominguez high. during time that tyson chandler attended. lmu is 5-1 and is best record in like 50 years! this team will compete with any team in wcc!

as to sacto tonite take saint mary's and their suffocating defense.
sacto has alot of talent but little chemistry. they turnover the ball alot. interesting stat: they avg. 70 on offense but shoot 40% good luck friend!
