The Marlins look to take game two of the series after winning the first game with a big inning. Starting pitching is ugly for this one tonight as both of the starting pitchers have had tough outings lately. Parra is just 2-4 on the road with an ERA over 7 and the Brewers are 3-11 in his last fourteen starts. Sanchez does not boast better numbers for the Marlins but he has pitched well against Milwaukee. The Marlins are 3-0 in his last three starts against the Brewers and he has given up 3 earned or less in those starts. He fares better at home as the Marlins are 11-4 in Sanchezs last 15 home starts. Dale Scott works behind the plate for tonight?s game and he is a noted homer with the home team winning at a 29-17 (63%) clip in the last two years. I am going back to the well tonight with the Florida Marlins.

Last night the Reds lost their starting pitched due to injury in the first and it was up to the bullpen to hold down the fort for the rest of the game. Since the bullpen was taxed last night you can expect the Reds to ask a lot from Bronson Arroyo tonight in his start. Arroyo has pitched well this year and pitched a complete game his last time out. His last two outings he pitched 17 innings his longest stint in back to back games this year. Tonight he won?t be able to give them the distance they need. The Cardinals batters have a good history of putting up runs against Arroyo and average 4.5 runs per game at home against him. The wind is blowing out to right tonight and when that has happened this year the over is 4-0. Over is 5-2 in Thompson?s last 7 starts after allowing 5 runs or more in their previous game and the over is 7-1 in this series. The Bats will be awake tonight and plenty of runs will be scored.

The Red Sox head to Motown to face Detroit and the Tigers are ready to show that they can play with elite in the east. Porcello gets the start for the Tigers and this kid has been magnificent. Porcello throws a fastball, sinker and curve and was 5-0, with 1.50 ERA in May, the first Detroit rookie to win five games in the second month of the season in 55 years. Dice K goes for the Red Sox and he has been very inconsistent struggling mightily with control and issuing walks frequently. This has caused a very high WHIP and an ERA over 9 in his last three starts. Tigers are 13-3 in their last 16 games as a favorite and 10-1 in their last 11 home games vs. a team with a winning record. The Tigers start off with a win in the first game of the series against the Red Sox.
