wow....it happened again to Mt Vernon....in 2009 a team from my area Newburgh beat them with a half court shot at the buzzer...losing a big lead was the real problem..N.Rochelle went on a 13-1 run at the end...Bobby Cimmino the Mt Vernon coach is really a great coach...has his players all under control..you can see after the game there were no problems and if there were he would stop it....the irony about the 2009 shot that Newburgh made was that NFA-{Newburgh} went on to win the state championship....and then all hell broke loose....all 5 starters had over 1,000 cuts from classes...on game days players didn't show up to school....the coach was fired..the AD and Principal both retired...it was a mess...if that kid misses that shot a few yrs ago nothing would of happened...but Mt Vernon has dominated hoops in NY for yrs....good luck new Rochelle..the kid that made the basket with 0.5 on the clock was the New Rochelle QB....they were the State Champions....my buddy didn't ref the game...he must of done the B-final before the A game..will text him tomr for more details....
