Where it is real F ing COLD
Beautiful animals. The DNR up here in NW and NE Minnesota are so fucked up. They did everything they could to repopulate some areas with Timber Wolves, they even populated an are with and Elk Heard as well to supply the Wolves. Well they ended up overpopulating taking Cattle and being found running through some of the populated areas. Well wouldn't you know they had to start a hunting season on them. They had to cancel the final few days of the hunt because too many were harvested.

Now you have a divide cause there are many people who think these animals are a nuisance and should all be killed and many who love their beauty.

I really think a person is fucked up when the first thing they think of when they see an animal is, " I want to kill it."

Could not agree more. Is that the size of a Timberwolf? What type wolf is pictured?

Chuck,
A Timber wolf is actually just a subspecies of the Gray wolf, which is the largest of the wolf species. There are some that are considered to be their own species such as the Red Wolf or Maned wolf. Red wolves are smaller and the majority of subspecies like the Eurasion, Tibetan, Indian, and Mexican wolf can be traced back to the Red Wolf whereas the Timber, Arctic, Alaskan and Tundra wolf are ancestors of the Gray wolf. That dog is most likely a gray wolf subspecies. It's all black/gray coat is more indicative of a North American tundra wolf, but it is definitely a hybrid. To me it looks like a malamute or elkhound mix. JMO

The origin of dogs, as judged by their mitochondrial DNA sequences, was first addressed five years ago by Dr. Robert K. Wayne and colleagues at the University of California at Los Angeles. Dr. Wayne showed that dogs were indeed derived from wolves, as long suspected, but he set their date of origin as a separate population at 135,000 years ago.

I will find the picture, but a wolf that looks just like that was field dressed at 165 lbs,

Big SOB. It's amazing to see the wolves here, I've seen Big Beautiful Wolves. and scraggly uglyones, most Timberwolves have like a greyish blue color and would not be that black.

There is a FB its called something like Wisconsin Timberwolf Kills. All it is, is piles an piles of dead wolves. I heard the guy who runs that name has a "pea sized penis."
