Great movie!!!! But it was ridiculous the freakin' line. Saw the movie in Arlington. Seemed like the entire city was there tonight...Well, at least all of us geeks...

By the way, for those of you who have read the book, it came out pretty much the same...

You might want to see I and II first.. They are not very good movies. (especially I) but i hear III wont make much sense without seeing the other two first.

cant wait to see it myself!

There were cheesy "chick flick" moments in this movie too, but the action was great...George Lucas has saved his best for last. The special effects were just spectacular!! Though, I'm still think The Empire Strikes Back was the best one of them all...

I left the theatre feeling unsatisfied.

They worried too much about the action and rushed many of the "mysteries" of the next trilogy in the last 5 minutes of the film.

Don't get me wrong, it was worth the 9 bucks, but I felt there were many questions from the Star Wars lore that either went unanswered, or were just glazed over very quickly. Wanted more substance as far as storyline outside of Anakin's fall from grace, but to each his own.

OK Star Wars geeks, without looking it up what was the name/subtitle of the original Star Wars movie? I thought this was easy, but even hardcore Star Wars geeks argue that it was just calld Star Wars which is not correct, Lucas had the forsight to call it Episode IV, do you know the title of the movie?

Yep. Can't imagine this was really his plan all along, but it's hard to argue with how it all played out 25 years later.

Lucas' claim is that he wrote the story in the 70's but knew that he did not have the technology to do Episodes I, II and III properly. Not sure if that is true or not but this is what I heard.

I do think having Episodes IV, V and VI as the first three installments was genius, even if it wasn't his intention all along.

hope this one is better than the previous two, both were terrible. in fact in the second one some of the deleted scenes worked better than the ones in the show.

liked Empire strikes back, and Star Wars (orginal) the best.
Lucas plans to do some smaller budget films, less mainstream.
he has been influenced by smaller films and want to try out different ideas.

will wait for a month to see it,....hate lines

will not be the last star wars. in the orginal plan it goes from 1-9. this film will make large amounts of money, biggest of the year.
in 5 years there will be demand for Lucas to think about doing 7-9.
hard to refuse a billion dollar film franchise.

thanks

Lucas already said he is done. I wish i still had the article, but you'll have to take my word I at least read it. He wants nothing to do with making 7,8, and 9 for the big screen. He is either making or selling the rights for the story to be told on tv either in a series or miniseries to complete the story after Jedi.
He might very well change his mind as like you said it is very hard to walk away from billions, but the guy already has more money than he knows what to do with.
Be interesting to see how it turns out, but he already denied he's making 7,8, and 9. TV was a rumor that's been floating around.
I have a theory that his son who is also a director might visit them in a few years.
Who knows, but as for Lucas doing the next three he claims he will not

I heard the same as Bleed about the final three installments. Basically what I read was that Lucas did not want to make the committment to making the last three, and run the risk of not finishing the final trilogy once it is started. While it would be worth billlions, he's already loaded, and the final three films would be at least ten more years of devoted work on his behalf.

Just saw Revenge of the Sith last night here in manhattan. the lines were around the corner, they were forming lines based on what showing you were scheduled to see.
i enjoyed this movie more than the previous two, i would have liked to watch both Episode II and IV prior to this showing but all in all i thought it was good entertainment.
i too thought that the ending might have been rushed just a little bit. I dont want to give anything away but hearing the dark side come to life is pretty cool

Also saw the midnight showing on Wednesday and left satisfied. Considering Episodes I & II this one is in a totally different league. Just a notch below "Empire" in my mind as it tied together all of the storylines from the previous two movies and sets up nicely the story going forward. Lucas will NOT do any more movies but is scheduled to do live-action TV series which documents events after Jedi, Episode VI. Supposedly, he is also considering having 3-D versions of all the movies in the future. Well worth the ticket and I'm going to see it again for all the small things which I missed the first time.
