"Vikings

QB Daunte Culpepper: Back (9/30).
The Minneapolis Star-Tribune reports the Vikings are considering giving Culpepper another week off to rest his injured back. Because Minnesota has an open week after playing the Falcons on Sunday, that would give Culpepper four weeks to get healthy."

............................................................

When you run into a situation where you do not know whether a QB Culpepper will play where do you go to get the most accurate up to date information. ?

How much trust can you put on reports on the internet ?

Should I just assume Culpepper will play and just take my chances ?

The decision I am trying to make is Minn Vikings a better team with Culpepper or Ferotte ? I dont know about Ferotte very well.
Is he a good QB ? Last week he looked good.

Or if Culpeppers back is not all the way healed, would he get
re-injured and Ferrote would come in.?

Any help appreciated !

Really, I do believe that they will give Dante another week off because they have a bye in week 6. Ferrote also looked very good LW controlling the offense and he is experienced with it too. I know you looking at fading your dirty birds again! :) I think that is the play. I watched the Minnesota game last week and their offensive line is HUGE and should push Atlanta around and get the running game going.

This is my 2nd favorite game this week and I really do believe that they will take this and cover. I know the Falcons are hurting, but your the man who can explain all that to us!!

Good Luck!

I subscribe to a fantasy football information service. Hasn't really made a whole lot of difference to how my fantasy team has done, but it's helped with my handicapping a lot. And best of all it's cheap ($24/year), but more than worth it with the reams of info they send me every day. (That's as far as I'll go, I'm not gonna give 'em a free plug and tick anyone here off, I don't work for them or anything).

Anyways, they email injury updates on key players every day, stating whether they practiced or not, etc. Here is what they just sent me today on Culpepper....

Frerotte to Likely Start Again

Clipped from the Yahoo! Sports article: Daunte Culpepper didn't practice Wednesday with the Minnesota Vikings and will likely sit out another game to give his back more time to heal.

Culpepper was ``a little bit sore,'' coach Mike Tice said. If he can't go through a full practice Thursday, the Vikings will start Gus Frerotte in Atlanta on Sunday.

``We are leaning in that direction,'' Tice said. ``We need to certainly be very smart with that injury.''

The big news here is that the Falcons have suspended cornerback Tyrone Williams for "conduct detrimental to the team". The Falcons weren't stopping folks very well over the last four weeks and losing a starting corner certainly won't help. As if we needed to give you another reason to start Randy Moss...

For the second straight week, the Vikings will turn to backup quarterback Gus Frerotte to step in for injured starter Daunte Culpepper, ESPN.com's Len Pasquarelli reported on Oct. 2. Coach Mike Tice will announce Oct. 2 that Frerotte, who led the undefeated Vikings to a 35-7 rout of the 49ers last week, will start Oct. 5 against the Falcons in Atlanta.

Also Nate is replacing Kelly in the starting WR position.
