The way I see it is he seems pumped about the switch to Ford this year and the horsepower underneath him now compared to the Dodges, he ran pretty good lap averages in happy hour although he was 22nd on the speed chart but he was 8th in the 2nd practice, he has won here before and he starts 4th but I can't figure out why he is 35-1 at all the books...what am I missing? Is he going to the back of the field for an engine change or something?? not very often you see him at these odds anywhere...thanks in advance

Top-35 in Owner Points and guaranteed a starting spot at Auto Club Speedway and first five races of 2010:
Teams that are guaranteed a starting spot for the first five races, but are currently out of the 2010 top 35 of owners points are:
36) #12-Keselowski/Penske: 3 points out of 35th
37) #77-Hornish Jr./Penske: -6
38) #34-Kvapil/Front Row: -9
39) #78-Smith/Furniture Row: -12
41) #47-Ambrose/JTG Daugherty: -18
Five teams are currently outside the 2009 Top 35 owners points and a guaranteed starting spot, but are in the top 35 for 2010 owners points after 1 race, which moves would allow them to be assured a starting spot if qualifying at Auto Club Speedway is canceled [rain out, etc] but two of those teams are not scheduled to run at ACS:
#82-Speed/Red Bull: 18th in 2010 Owners Points
#51-Waltrip/MWR: 19th, but has no plans to run at ACS
#71-Labonte/TRG: 21st, but would get in via being a past champ
#21-Elliott/Wood Bros: 28th, no plans to run ACS, past champ
#55-McDowell/Prism: 33rd
#09-Almirola/Phoenix Racing is 49th but would make the race via being a past winning team in 2009
The other teams likely to attempt ACS this coming weekend that would make the race if qualifying is canceled would be:
#13-Papis (40th in 2010 owners points); #36-Bliss (42nd); #87-Nemechek (43rd) and #90-Mears (44th).
Missing the race would be #46-Cook (47th) and #66-Blaney (49th)
For the owners points standings, see my 2010 Owners Points Standings and 2010 Owners Points Rack for the first five races.(2-14-2010)
