I just heard the announcer say "21 year old Freshman Dominique Sutton"?

How the heck does that happen? Can you redshrit for 3 consecutive years before you play?

Or is he just that stupid, that he got held back 3 years in grade school?

21 year old freshman!?! :mj07: He probably won't graduate until he's 30! (yea, like he'll get his degree) :mj07:

Why even go there it shows your stupidity. You have no knowledge about him. Diener family for years holds their family members back in grade school did you know that?Maybe he was held back, maybe started school late after high school, maybe annoncer made a mistake anyways your a clown rfor bringing it up.

Umm ... each Diener was held back ONE year. This is getting to actually be common.

Noone holds their kid back 3 years - unless the grade school does it for you.

Regardless, it is a huge advantage to be a 21 year old freshman. Many seniors are only 21 years old.

I thought the NCAA Div I had an age limit - in fact, I'll be they do. The only way around it is with a Mormon mission or something like that. I kinda doubt Mr. Sutton was on a Mormon mission prior to starting college.

Which means good 'ole Sutton probably won't get 4 years in.

But a 21 year old freshman? Ridiculous!

he'll actually be 22 in October. He went to a boarding/prep school in North Carolina.

I'm not sure if there are age limits in the NCAA, but I know in high school, at least here, u can't play past the age of 18. Not sure how he was playing high school ball last year if he was? Can you imagine a 20 year old man playing against 14 year old freshmen?? Certainly not fair.

We've got one of those here in Wisconsin (boarding school). It is called St. John's Military Academy. In fact, the Badgers point guard (Travon Hughes went there for High school - but he started when he was 14).

SJ typically gets kids that are out of control at home and are getting into trouble - to get some discipline in their life. At least, that's what people around here tell me.

Yea, the age think is not fair.

And Franky - thanks, man - us, Wisky people have to stick together. Yes I still have my house - just now have a 2nd mortgage....

I don't believe there is an age limit in the NCAA. Some kids work after high school and then decide to go to college. At that point you get 5 years to complete your 4 years of eligibility.

Your right big guy, and call me for that second mortgage:mj07: ......

Bucky looks good, people have no idea about this team!...

See you in the Sweet Sixteen!

Franky

Actually I'm a little worried about this game. Stiemsma and Butch both have 2 fouls. After Beasley got that foul at 2 minutes into the game, UW should have concentrated on dropping down and taking charges when he drives hard to the hoop. He puts his head down and does it every time. All they have to do is sneak a guard down there and let him get run over once or twice.

They gotta get him out of the game. He is unstoppable.

And I doubt the Badgers will keep hitting 3's the way they have. Although admittedly, Bohanon has not done much yet - if he get's hot, it's all over. Kansas State is vulnerable to the ball swing and leaving 3 pt shooters open. At least so far.

Really? You could work out, build your body, and then start playing DI at the age of 25, for example?

Granted, that wouldn't give the player much of a chance at a pro career, but still......

Oh yea... I did find out (isn't the internet wonderful) that Mr. Sutton's extra 3 years of grade school didn't help him.

He was not considered part of the team the fall semester this year, due to being ineligible for academic issues. He was allowed to join the team for the 2nd semester. This isn't a young 18 young man with academic issues - this is a mature 21 year old Adult that didn't benefit from 3 extra years of pre College schooling.

So, I guess my "dumb" comment may not have been so far off base after all.....
