kc + the $ and under

Well, everyone probably will like Oakland with their ace tonight but I'm going with kc for a nice price. I like that they pulled one out yesterday,and that they are home. (Durbin pitches much better at home)He is coming off an 8 inning shutout performance against a tough Seattle lineup on 7/18 and his home whip in last 5 is 1.09. Neither lineup instills fear in the opposition and team offenses are comparable although 7 of last 10 has Oakland playing better ball and thinking wild card. Hudson has been great of late with home whip at .8 in last 5 and away whip at 1.2. Nevertheless,he has been rocked in his only 2 starts vs kc in past 2 years with a whip around 2 over 2 starts and an era of 7.00. Durban won his last vs Oakland on May 23 (4-1) giving up 4 hits and 4bb over 7ip. This looks like a decent shot at +170 or so. Both pens seem ready with edge to Oak and I'd give bench edge to KC.
Any opinions...... I guess i just think Oakland is overpriced here and KC has a good chance to pull out a close one in a low scoring game.

While I agree laying -200 on the road against a guy who has pitched extremely well in his last two starts looks way inflated to begin with.......... it is probably right on the mark.......

The reason I say this is that Durbin is coming off two starts where he has thrown 123 and 110 pitches, quite a few and pitching tonight on four days rest. First fatigue may set in early and the A's lineup can hit, plus if KC turns this game over to the bullpen it could be a massacre. As seen last night when Hernandez allowed two runs in the ninth before getting a guy out. Hudson is 7-3 on the road and overall in July is 3-0 with a 1.50 ERA.........

I guess in my book it is a pass with a small indication that this game might go over the small number of 9........ KC's bullpen has thrown 132 pitches over the last three games to boot...... Just my opinon good luck in whatever you play!!!!!

good points HC!
Durbin has been going on 4 days and pitching strong. The poor sob has 16 scoreless innings in last 2 and 2Ls to show for it. Anyway, after the Giambi bros I'm not too impressed with their .256 team ba although Damon is heating up. Price has to be high on Hudson here but I still see it as too much and on the chance that Durbin has another great start..i'm stickin with KC although I have not yet pulled the trigger... great feedback! good luck today
