When I have time I like to give reasons why I'm playing a particular team. That way, you can go against me if you think I'm full of shit! Right or wrong, here's who I played tonight and the reasons why....
DETROIT -120 Double Play W
Two really good pitchers squaring off in this game, but Verlander in particular has been on fire. In his last 6 starts, he's pitched 42 innings and only given up 24 hits and 9 runs! 3 times he's only given up 1 run and 3 times he's only given up 2 runs...in those 6 starts!! Throw in the fact that Detroit is playing outstanding baseball right now AND........ they are only a slight favorite. My money is on DETROIT -120 Double Play.
MINNESOTA +113 Double Play W
The Twins are playing as good as anyone right now and they are hitting and scoring runs in bunches. The Twins pitcher tonight Santana, has an ERA of 1.96 in his last 8 starts!! AND...they are a nice underdog!! Say no more, I'm on MINNESOTA +113 Double Play.
CLEVELAND +105 Double Play L
Cleveland is a better team. Tomlin's ERA is almost 2 runs better than Pineda. Tomlin is 6-1 on the road. The Indians owe the Yankees from early July when NY took 3 out of 4 in Cleveland. Plus, Cleveland is a dog!! My money is on CLEVELAND +105 Double Play.
I also like a late game a whole lot, but if I'm wrong on these first three games I won't be playing anything late, otherwise I will post later.
