The starting pitcher for the Angels, Santana, has been atrocious this year. He is 0-4 with a 7.23 ERA. In 23 2/3 innings he has given up 28 hits, 19 earned runs and get this, 10 HOME RUNS!!! In addition he is only 1-6 lifetime vs Cleveland. On the other hand, the Indians starter Derek Lowe is 3-1 with a respectable 3.00 ERA. In two home starts he has pitched 13 innings and only given up one earned run. Neither team is hitting much right now, but I see the Cleveland bats coming alive today with Santana throwing batting practice. Take Cleveland.

I know the Dodgers are really playing well right now and after last night's late inning victory they now stand 9-2 at home. But I've been on Gio Gonzales all year and I'm backing him today. He is 2-0 with a 1.52 ERA this year, but in his last three starts he's pitched 20 innings, has only given up 6 hits and NO RUNS. That's good enough for me. Take the Nats.

I'm on the Red Sox train 'till they lose.
