I dont follow horse racing although I love the sport. Any of you railbird's have a opinion on the derby as far as which horse has a shot to beat the Emperior? What longshot has a chance to get into the money? I will probably lay some coin on the derby and just looking for some help

For my superfecta bet, I'm going to key Funny Cide on top with Empire Maker, Peace Rules and Atswhatimtalknbout. $2 super key 6 with the 12, 5, and 4.

Seriously, hell of a call Smashmouth. What did you see in a New York bred gelding trained by Barclay Tagg? By the way, you know that number 4 horse Atswhatimtalknbout looks real good for the added distance Belmont. Was flyin at the end.

I just loved the way he was coming into form up to the derby.
I was on Empire Maker in the winter but you can't bet a favorite in the derby. Too many horses. I just felt that for the odds funny cide was by far the best value in the race. Made a nice score and had a nice exacta ticket. Peace Rules blew up my trifecta and superfecta though.
I left him out because I was trying to get a big price. Because a 700 dollar triple is not enough.

Yeah, but the way Empire Maker was positioned at the top of the stretch, he really had no excuses. In the post-race interview, Bailey said he knew he had it lost in the stretch and he wasnt gonna catch the winner. Wonder how much the injury was bothering Empire Maker.
