Even without racing this weekend, Todd Pletcher's colt shoots to the top of our rankings while previous No. 1, Verrazano, falls to No. 3 despite winning the Wood Memorial.

Although he didn't race this past weekend, Revolutionary moves to the top of the Kentucky Derby rankings.

The 3-year-old colt has now won three starts in a row, including the Mar. 30 Louisiana Derby in his last start.

Former number one choice Verrazano drops to number three on the list after winning the Wood Memorial by three-quarters of a length. I'm thinking the Derby distance of a mile-and-a-quarter may get to him, while Goldencents, who Louisville basketball head coach Rick Pitino owns 5% of, rises to second off a powerful win in the Santa Anita Derby.

Number four on the list is Orb, winner of the Fountain of Youth Stakes and the Florida Derby, who will likely need a new jockey as I think John Velazquez will stay aboard the undefeated Verrazano if he?s healthy after fracturing a rib in a spill at Aqueduct on Sunday.

Normandy Invasion rounds out the top five after a solid second-place finish in the Wood, earning him a much needed 40 points in the Derby qualifying system to ensure himself a spot in the starting gate.

Itsmyluckyday is number six, having finished second in the Florida Derby in his last start when he returned from a layoff and could move forward in the Derby.

Java's War can move up the list from seventh on Saturday when he tries the Polytrack in the Blue Grass Stakes at Keeneland.

On Sunday, the colt worked a bullet five furlongs in 1:00.56 at Gulfstream for trainer Ken McPeek.

Vyjack suffered his first loss in the Wood and falls to number eight, while a pair of horses trained by D. Wayne Lukas round out the top 10 with Will Take Charge, who starts in Saturday's Blue Grass and Oxbow, who starts Saturday in the Arkansas Derby from Oaklawn Park.

Flashback fell completely off the list after suffering a chipped knee when finishing second in the Santa Anita Derby and will miss the May 4 Kentucky Derby.
