LEXINGTON, Ky. ? Linebacker Micah Johnson and defensive tackle Shane McCord are expected to be available for Saturday's game against Mississippi State but cornerback Trevard Lindley remains doubtful to participate, Coach Rich Brooks said after practice Thursday morning.
?Micah was able to get through practice today, limited, but I think he'll be available for some action,? Brooks said. ?We won't start Micah but he should be available to come in unless he has a real setback from what he did today.
?Trevard did a little bit (in practice) but I doubt that he's going to be quite ready. We'll suit him up (Saturday) and judge him during the pregame warm-ups whether he'll be available or not.
?Shane McCord should be able to go. He's not 100 percent but should be able to go.?
Johnson is UK's starting middle linebacker and leads the team in tackles with 55 stops. He incurred a strained medial collateral knee ligament in last Saturday's win over the University of Louisiana at Monroe.
Lindley, a preseason first-team All-American, has not played since Oct. 3 because of a high-ankle sprain.
McCord, a reserve defensive tackle, has been dealing with an injured shin. He has played in all seven games this season and has seven tackles.
UK completed on-field preparations for the MSU game with a practice Thursday morning at the Nutter Training Center. The Wildcats play host to the Bulldogs on Saturday at 7 p.m. The game will be televised by Fox Sports South and also carried on ESPN GamePlan and ESPN360.com.
?Blackout? for Mississippi State Game: With the Mississippi State game occurring on Halloween, fans are encouraged to wear black clothing to Commonwealth Stadium on Saturday.
