Help me understand what happen here tonite. I did not play this game, but, the 7 point spread is sure put on the hot seat with the way this game ended. The PAT wasn't attempted. Is this a discretionary decision by the referee crew or some bookie in the pressbox.? WOW.! There had to be some pissed Kentucky bettors.

I had Kentucky +7 and I could have pushed with the PAT.

I think in the NFL they would kick it, b/c there are tiebreakers that deal with points.

But in college, they don't.

Look at college OT. If one team kicks a FG, then the other team scores a TD....they don't kick the PAT to win by 4.

So it sucked but thats just the way it goes.

The rule isnt quite what people have been saying. The XP is/can be tried if it can matter to the outcome. Remember that a team can return an XP for 2 points. So if a team scores at the end to go ahead say 21-20, the team that is behind can compel the point to be tried. Of course they would just take a knee....
