Amlin Chief Executive Charles Philipps said that, based on preliminary information, the total insured losses for Hurricane Frances may be less than for August's Charley, which it expected to cost it 30-40 million pounds in claims.
Hannover Re, the world's fourth largest reinsurer, said it expected claims in the middle of a range between 10 and 100 million euros -- around the same impact as it had from Hurricane Charley, which it now predicts will cost it around 70 million euros.
It reiterated its full-year earnings forecast of 390 to 430 million euros
