New Orelans needs to give Deuce the ball!

Since 2002 the Saints are 14-2 SU when Deuce has 24+ rushing attempts, regardless if he breaks 100 yds. Their lone 2 losses have come against the Carolina Panthers who seem to have their number. Those losses were by 4 and 3 pts.

Its a safe bet to say the Saints will cover tonite if Deuce gets the rock more than 24 times. But will he?

maybe, just maybe they give him the ball when they have a lead. that stat is somewhat meaningless. in games they are winning, they run the ball a lot to eat up clock. not brain surgery. dont think they should just give him the ball every time and that would guarantee a win.

I think the logical bet is that they give it to Deuce and it becomes an under game. Giants and over, Saints and under, its a tough choice.

8 of those games were decided by 5 or less and 5 of them were decided by 3. By no means do I mean, if they give Deuce the ball everytime, that they will cover.

However if they continue to pound Deuce, control the clock and LOS, it will open up passing lanes for Aaron Brooks. They can't abandon the running game and their best offensive player. Like the Chargers did in week 1 against the cowboys(LT) and the Raiders did last nite. Didn't even look at Moss on the last series, 4 plays from the 10...

If they stick to the run and he gets his 24+ carries, I feel they cover. I think the Saints figured it out too, they are 5-0 last 5 games and wouldn't you know Deuce had 25 or more carries all 5 games.
