Enough already with this crap. Now Philly mayor apologizes for the city and its fans. Who is this guy to speak for anyone?

First of all only 4000 of those fans were season ticket holders, many celebs and executives in the seats and high $$$$ suites at the F U Center.

Should he have been booed, yes? Not because of last year or bc he plays for the Lakers. I was booin from home because he played 30 of the first 35 minutes of the game just to win the MVP.

He rarely passed and shot every time he got the ball. Not questioning his talent, but rather his values. So who sat the first 30 minutes of the game, and why?

Without shaq in the line up, Kobe came out to show Philly up, and got it right back in his face. Quote from last year, " I really don't consider Philly home anymore." during NBA finals last year.

He lived in Italy growin up, lived in $$$ suburbs of the big bad city, and now lives in Los Angeles. Kobe came here to show his boys how big he his in la, and did nothing but selfishly go after the MVP.

Anyone could have done this, Garnett, Payton, mcgrady, ray Allen, these guys had good games, but they rotated their time throughout the game.

East did this because of MJ and the fact they were out of the game most of the time. Iverson had a terrible game, and even had words with Kobe at times. Even Mike said a few things to Kobe about postin up all the time.

Anyone at the game? Raymond or anyone else from the area what do ya think?

Whew, enough already. Just tired of hearing how bad the fans in this town are, and the mayor kissin everyones ass.

I'm sure that's the only reason he played so much...just so he could win the MVP. Come on, man...he played better than anyone else on the floor. Not that there is a lot of coaching going on, BUT, the coaching staff does make sure that everyone gets to play. Some players get more minutes than others...Kobe is phenom and tends to get much more exposure. Just the way it is.

He rarely passed and shot every time he got the ball. Not questioning his talent, but rather his values.

So did a lot of other guys in the All-Star game and in past All-Star games. It's for the fans and quite frankly, I didn't want to see a bunch of passing in a half court set. I wanted to see a run and gun shoot-out with guys pumping up shots all over the place. Sure, I like to see great passes and looks, but this wasn't about piling up assists. I think you're a little off on this one.

This whole thing is a joke!! Kobe should pull his pants down and take a huge dump all over that third rate city and their thrid rate fans.

It makes me laugh out lound when others look down on those who have had a good up bringing. Should kobe apoligize to thoese low class Phily fans becasue he comes from a well-off family? HELL NO! Does anyone get on Tiger Woods' ass for have the same family stabliity and guidence to make him what he is today? HELL NO.

I'm just saying; if your gonna boo the guy just say your doing it for the correct reasons. That reason being in this case, is that he ran his mouth last year during the finals and then proceeded to beat the living hell out of our team and fragile gang banging point guard!!

Hey, I've come from little to nothing but I but I refuse to down some guy becasue he was born with a silver spoon in his mouth.

To make'n whoopie:

"Kobe should pull his pants down and take a huge dump all over that third rate city and their third rate fans."

Are u kidding me with that ridiculous comment?!?!
Philly fans, and the city of Philadelphia are anything but third rate.

I agree with Aces High, to mean it seemed like Kobe was hell-bent on winning the MVP. I felt that was very obvious to any casual observer of the game. Combine that with the fact that Kobe plays for the team that stood in the way of the Sixers winning the NBA title, and you are damm right the guy is going to be booed.

Kobe Bryant will finish his career regarded as one of the greatest basketball players of all-time, there is nothing you can say to dispute that. Howver to me, it seems like Kobe has a chip on his shoulder, a certain arrogance about him. I think alot of fans feel this way about him. I really loved it how the Philly fans socked it to him. It was almost as if they were saying "yeah we know your great, yeah we know your team smacked us around in the NBA Finals, we know your trying to come out and show us up by winning the MVP on our home floor, and for all the reasons we are going to boo the hell out of you"

--It was indeed like they "ALMOST WERE SAYING" they got their got their ass kicked in the finals and that is why they were booing, BUT THEY DIDN'T SAY THAT AT ALL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The fans of phily have been ranting they booed him for these reasons, not because he wore their teams ASS AS A HAT in the finals:.... he is a traitor because he went right to the nba and not a local college, he was born with a silver spoon in his mouth, he lived it italy most his life ect bla bla bla.

I think that the only reason they were booing Kobe was because of the finals. I don't buy into all this other nonsense.

You mean to tell me, that just because Kobe went to high school in Philly and because he did not choose to got to college at Temple or Villanova, the fans are going to boo him. And now because he is from Philly and does not play for the 6ers he is going to be booed.

C'MON!!!!!!!!!! So I suppose every player that comes from Philly, gets booed when they come back home because they don't play for the 6ers or because they chose to go to school outside the area. I find that hard to believe.

Kobe was booed because he plays for the Lakers, regardless of what the public is saying. You can't call the fans and a city, third rate because they boo the guy who plays for the team that beat their team in the championship.

P.S. Also thinking back the Finals were NOT that one sided Philly shocked LA in game 1 and came very close to winning games 2-3. I think if anything Philly earned the Lakers respect in the first three games.

"Hey Kobe, nice hat"
"Gee thanks, its actually the ass of the Philadlephia 76ers"

interesting commentary...

interesting commentary...

i will simply add.

what annoys me most about kobe is his reluctance to admit that his game and life is patterned after jordan. do i lose sleep over this? no. but, everything he does is jordan. his mannerisms, his speech, his game, etc... now look, if i could be doing the same in the NBA i probably would as well. but, i would try to have my own persona. kobe is a clone.

can't be to bad being a jordan clone i guess.

Its traditional

Its traditional

This is just a variation of a time-honored NBA tradition. Its called setting up the hometown teams star player to win the MVP award by letting him get extra minutes, shots, and even an open court pass or two for a cheap lay-up to pad the stats. In this case it just happened to be a star player from another team who claimed hometown I-wanna-be-MVP-of-the-day-status.I remember Tom Chambers, far from the player Kobe is,getting tons of points, rebounds, minutes, and passes from teammates in a successful attempt to make it happen for him while on the Supersonics or Phoenix,(whichever team he played for at the time),when they hosted the game. There have been many, many, others.but I'm too busy working on todays NBA to bother looking up how many.GL

I could care less about kobe and his silver spoon. money wont buy him respect in this league. It doesnt bother me that he didnt play college ball here, he should have gone pro.

boo whooo, i wont play for char, so trade me to la or else, nice attitude for a kid entering a mans game.

point i was trying to make was that anyone could have done what he did to win the mvp. and that not all people at the game were sixer or philly fans.

no one from NY should be throwin stones at Philly, i wont even acknowledge those comments.

Kobe is a great player, and the lakers beat the sixers last year in the finals, but kicked their ass ?? i dont think so.

watchin MJ and wiz vs kobe & lakers right now, come on Mike !!!

peace

guys guys guys.....
kobe was upset as anyone would be when returning back home and getting booed....
do you think that vancouver native steve nash would get booed in toronto during an allstar game or even a regular season game? HELL NO!
or if jordan gets booed in charlotte? HELL NO!
so why should kobe be treated so badly? but i guess it doesn't matter...they do make millions so we shouldn't care but i guess its something to debate about.....i have one last thing to say....

regardless of the stupid booing stuff.....KOBE IS THE BEST AND HE PROVED THAT AGAINST THE WIZARDS!!!!!!
trip-doubs...bringing back the lakeshow w/out shaq against a hot wizard team w/ MJ.....don't matter who's booing him...he's the best right now! vince, t-mac, pierce, kidd, etc....run faster and try and catch up to kobe

Philly fans boo.....that's their job. They've always been known for it. Booing Mike Schmidt, Santa Claus etc. If Philly fans didn't boo at what may seem inappropriate times, I would be disappointed.

What may even seem classless in other towns is not in Philly, and I don't say that as an insult. Philly fans expect more than most...if you play there, you can get used to it or get out. If you come from there, you should just plain know better.

There was a guy on the Best Damn Sports Show the other night who said if Kobe were just a regular guy hangin in Philly watchin the game, HE would have booed Kobe. That's just the way it's done in Philly.

I kinda like Kobe's swagger to a certain extent, unless he's playing my Celtics. I kinda felt bad for the guy getting booed. I guess i kinda like his confidence, and yes he is definitely a Jordan clone. Plus the guy speaks fluent Italian very very well:D :D
